Chop It Up

Andrew Feldman wanted a sweat, and a sweat is exactly what he got in a recent hand against Elliot Smith, with his tournament life on the line.

Feldman got it all in before the flop holding {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} against Smith's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

"Don't sweat it," Smith said to Feldman, who had his head buried in his hands, facing away from the table.

"I'm sorry, I have to sweat it," Feldman said.

"He's ahead and he wants a sweat!" joked Smith. "Give him a sweat, put three spades up there."

The dealer then spread a {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, giving Feldman a realistic chance to win the pot outright.

"Make it red," Smith instructed the dealer.

He listened.

The next two cards off the deck were both red -- the {5-Hearts} and {8-Hearts} and Feldman sat back down to collect his half of the pot -- 135,000 worth of chips.

Smith was left with 575,000 after the hand.

Chaptini Can Breathe Easy

Fouad Chaptini can breathe a little easier now that he has doubled up.

Chaptini moved in for 88,000 preflop, holding {k-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. He was called by Dan Shak {A-Diamonds}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. It made Chaptini a flush and sent him up to 197,000 in chips. That's small fry for Shak who still has 930,000.

Uh Oh! It's Obrestad

Annette Obrestad is looking dangerous at 1,100,000 chips.

Obrestad recently added another 200,000 to her stack through Stephen Shelly. We caught action on the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop with a decent pot already in the middle. Obrestad had just fired 63,000 into Shelly. He fired back with 150,000 and Obrestad opted move all in.

After some time in the tank Shelly folded.

Kris Krossed

Kristoffere Kero has just been eliminated from the main event by big stack Amir Minagar.

With about 90,000 already in the pot and the board showing {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Minager led out with a 35,000 bet and Kero moved all in over the top for an additional 148,000. Minager made the call and a showdown ensued:

Kero: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Minagar: {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The turn and river then came {9-Spades}, {3-Clubs} and Minager's sixes held up to send Kero to the rail in 30th place ($40,000 AUD).

After the hand, Minagar stacked up 1,259,000 in chips.

No Silver Lining

The players have been dropping like flies since we switched to six-handed play and the most recent casualty was Steven Silva (31st place - $30,000 AUD), who was eliminated by Fredrik Jensen.

Jensen opened the pot with a raise to 20,000 from the button and Silva, next to act, three-bet to 60,000. Jensen then reraised all in and Silva made the call for about 170,000 total:

Silva: {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Jensen: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The board then ran out {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} giving Jensen two pair, aces and nines, to eliminate Silva from the main event.

After the hand, Jensen stacked up 1,180,000 in chips.

Basha Backdoor Flushed Away

David Frieling has just eliminated Arthur Basha in 32nd place ($30,000).

The chips went in preflop, with Frieling's {A-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} leading Basha's {A-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

The flop gave Basha the lead, coming {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Frieling's hopes of winning the pot were given a boost by the {8-Hearts} on the turn.

The {6-Hearts} completed the backdoor flush, and sent Basha out cruelly after the flop looked set to keep him alive.

Urbach Doubles

Preflop, Christoph Urbach opened to 20,000 from the button and Jason Pritchard called from the big blind.

The flop came {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}. Pritchard proceeded to move all in on the flop covering Urbach. Urbach made the call for his stack.

Pritchard: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Urbach: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

Urbach was well in control of the hand and shipped the double up with the board completing {7-Clubs} turn and {Q-Spades} river.

Aristidon't

Peter Aristidou has just been eliminated from the tournament in 33rd place ($30,000 AUD) by Cort Kibler-Melby.

Action folded around the table to Kibler-Melby who opened with a button raise to 20,000. Aristidou made the call and the two went heads-up to a {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} flop, which both players checked.

The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and Aristidou fired a 30,000 bet. Kibler-Melby then kicked it up to 90,000 and Aristidou made the call.

The river brought the {7-Spades} and Aristidou checked to Kibler-Melby who shoved all in, putting Aristidou to a decision for all of his chips. Aristidou eventually made the call with {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}, only to see Kibler-Melby table pocket kings for a set.

After the hand, Kibler-Melby stacked up just under 500,000 in chips.

Kaiser Marches

Ronny Kaiser has been eliminated in 34th place.

Kaiser raised to 17,000 from under the gun and it folded to [Removed:297] in the big blind. Wenigwieser three-bet it to 72,000 and Kaiser responded by ordering all of his stack into the middle.

Wenigwieser made the call tabling {A-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} to lead the hand against Kaiser's {a-Spades}{9-Spades}. The {k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop only dug a bigger hole for Kaiser. The turn {5-Clubs} and river {5-Hearts} completing the job and sending him out of the tournament in 34th place.

He'll take home $30,000 AUD. Wenigwieser takes the chip lead with the pot at 1,500,000 in chips.
