Dorfman Leads Table 32

Table 32 has had some nice pots already and Randy Dorfman is the winner so far. Romanello was down a bit bust just took quite some chips from Karmazinas who loses his profit.

On a {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board Karmazinas bet 1,000 from the small blind and Romanello called. The river was the {K-Clubs} and Karmazinas threw out 2,400. Romanello quickly raised to 5,100 and Karmazinas called. The Welshman showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and took down the pot.

Value For Karamalikis

There was 525 in front of Jonathan Karamalikis, who was under the gun +1, and 1,800 in front of Daniel Alaei, who was in the small blind, when we walked up. Karamalikis gave it some thought and made the call.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Alaei checked once more. The Australian pro now decided to bet 1,700 and Alaei called.

On the river the {5-Clubs} hit and Alaei checked for the third consecutive time. Karamalikis counted out some chips and announced a 4,700 bet. Alaei tanked for a bit while staring down his opponent and he finally threw in the call. Karamalikis showed {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and took down the pot.

Cooler Sends Koon Packing

Jason Koon during the Main Event
Jason Koon during the Main Event

As we were writing up the previous hand a lot of silent action went down on table 32. We didn't catch any of it, and upon our return Roberto Romanello explained to us what happened.

Romanello had opened pre flop with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and after one caller Koon decided to three-bet to 2,000. Romanello was the only caller. The flop brought out {6-}{7-}{8-} with one diamond and Koon bet 2,600, Romanello called.

On the turn the {K-Diamonds} hit, giving Romanello a back door flush draw, and he called 5,800 this time. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Koon fired out a big 15,000 chip bet. Romanello put Koon all-in for an extra 12,000 and he made the call. The EPT and WPT winner tabled his flush and Koon mucked his cards. He later told them he had {3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. A very early exit for Koon who went deep in the Main Event earlier this week finishing 27th for A$35,000. Daniel Alaei has taken Koon's seat to balance the tables.

One For Alaei

Daniel Alaei raised to 800 under the gun and got called by Dorfman, who is immediately to his left, and Shawn Buchanan, who was in the small blind.

The flop came down {Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Buchanan check-called the 1,600 continuation bet. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Buchanan checked again. Alaei quickly threw out 4,100 and his Canadian opponent folded.

Huge Three-Way Pot

JC Tran from the Main Event
JC Tran from the Main Event

From the cutoff Matt Jarvis raised and he got called from the small and big blind. So far so good. The flop was {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and JC Tran lead out for 1,100. Dypvik, who was in the big blind, called. Jarvis wasn't ready to see the turn and popped it up to 3,850. After some tanking both his opponents called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and both blinds checked to Jarvis who bet 8,625. Folding didn't seem to be an option in this hand as both players made the call once again. On the river the {6-Hearts} hit and Tran went into the tank. He took a look a both his opponents stacks and eventually fired out a hefty bet of 19,800. Dypvik wasn't happy but after doing some calculations he threw in a large portion of his stack. Jarvis folded right away.

JC Tran turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for the nut flush and Dypvik sighed as he shook his head and folded. "I should have folded", Dypvik said as he looked down at his small stack. "Did you have a set?", Dypvik asked Jarvis who replied and said, "I'm pretty sure I had the best hand until the river". Tran has taken a huge lead over his four opponents and that could be a huge factor as we will keep playing short handed poker.

Dpyvik Not Done Yet

Jonathan Karamalikis just raised to 1,000 under the gun and JC Tran, who is to his left, three bet to 3,700. Borge Dypvik moved all-in for 5,150 immediately after Tran put in his three-bet, and action got folded to Karamalikis. After tanking for some time he said, "Can he (pointing at JC Tran) raise if I call?". The dealer did some counting and ended up ruling that he could still raise. Karamalikis smiled and said, "I think I have you beat but not him" as he folded his cards leaving the showdown up to Tran who called.

Borge Dypvik{A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
JC Tran{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and with that Dypvik is back up to just under 30 big blinds.
