"Sick Beat" Kenny

Kenny Tran
Kenny Tran
With the board reading {7-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{Q-Spades} Kenny Tran and his opponent had committed their chips into the middle. Kenny held {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for a set of queens but was sweating the river as his opponent held {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair and a flush draw.

The crowd gathered around the rail as the river peeled off the {3-Spades} to complete the flush and leave Kenny Tran, who is better known for his "sick calls" rather than "sick beats", with less than 14,000 chips.

Jamie Pickering was eliminated by Nicholas Macmillan. Pickering check-raised all in on a board {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Macmillian called with {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Pickering had a flush draw and missed. He was eliminated.

Pickering had a very good week at the Aussie Millions. He was the Event #4 winner and he made a final table at Event #7 and Event #10. Sadly, his run at the Aussie Millions has come to a close.

Shak Flops Straight

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} Karib Karib opened the betting with an 800 bet from the cutoff. Dan Shak re-pops it to 2,800 from the big blind and Karib calls.

The turn is the {2-Diamonds} and Shak leads out for a 3,000 chip bet. Karib thinks and calls once again.

The river brings the {K-Diamonds} and both players check it down.

Karib shows {10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for flopped two pair but Shak had flopped a straight with his {K-Spades}{9-Spades} which is good to win the pot. Karib slips to 16,000 while Shak is now up to 34,000 chips.

Raymond Rahme Doubles Through Gary Benson

Raymond Rahme likes runner-runner flushes
Raymond Rahme likes runner-runner flushes
On the last hand before the break, Gary Benson raised to 600 pre-flop and got four callers, including Raymond Rahme. The flop was {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The action was checked to Rahme, who moved all in for 9,675. Three opponents folded, and Gary Benson went into the tank, ultimately making the call with {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Rahme turned up {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The turn was the {9-Hearts}, giving Rahme a flush draw. He'd need a queen, a ten, or a heart to survive. And the river was... the {4-Hearts}, doubling Rahme up to 18,000.
