DeepStacks Day 2 Starts Now!

The grind goes on.
The grind goes on.

We're just moments away from the start of Day 2 here at the DeepStacks Poker Tour Western New York Poker Championship and there is a palpable excitement in the air.

Just 42 players remain from the 217 that began this event and there is a marquee name at the top.

DeepStacks Pro Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi built a massive stack on Day 1 and will come in as the chip leader today as they play down to the final six.

The rest of the DeepStacks team hit the rail throughout the day Friday, leaving a group of local grinders to compete for the $71,827 first-place prize that includes the winner of this event at the Seneca Niagara Casino last year - Randy Pfeifer.

Pfeifer finds himself in the top ten with names like, Sammy Smith, Andy Spears, Kyaw Naing, Kam Low, Larry Carney, Jonathan Dimmig , Greg Hartwick and Justin Brennan, all within a double up or less of catching Mizrachi.

With just 42 remaining they are not far off the 24-person money bubble, which should pop soon. But it appears most are focused on making the final six, where the five-figure payouts begin and DeepStacks Poker Tour glory resides.

The PokerNews Live Updating team is along for the ride, and we will endeavor to bring you all the highs and lows from the action here in Niagara Falls from start to finish today.

Just sit back and enjoy, the DeepStacks Poker Tour Western New York Poker Championship's second day will be underway shortly.
