Persaud Thinks With His Gut

Nik Persaud was contemplating a raise and a shove in front of him but decided to get it all-in with {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} and found himself up against {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} and {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}.

Persaud turned to Daniel Negreanu and said, "I'm feeling good about this, I'm going to hit."

As the cameras rushed in to watch, Persaud's gut-feeling was good, as the {J-Hearts} came out first followed by the rest of the {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {10-Spades} {3-Hearts} board.

Persaud won the main pot, trebling up to 220,000 while the kings took the small side pot as big slick slid on out of here.

Ivey Finds Aces

Phil Ivey, yesterday. Looks much the same today.
Phil Ivey, yesterday. Looks much the same today.

Phil Ivey is back up to 175,000 after finding {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} against a short stack's {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

The sevens weren't lucky for the all-in player as the board came down a seven-free {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades} to eliminate him.

JP Keeps Running Into Big Pairs

JP Kelly has bumped into a big pair for the third time in the last hour, and no he's not in a plastic surgeon's office.

He had opened to 7,000 with Masa Kagawa making it 22,000 from the big blind. Kelly called the raise and the flop came out {9-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts}.

Kagawa bet 27,000 and Kelly made the call to see a {4-Hearts} turn.

Kagawa now fired out like 80,000 with about 60,000 which had Kelly tanking before setting his opponent all-in. Kagawa instantly called with {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} to Kelly's {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and held on the {10-Hearts} river.

Kagawa moved up to 350,000 while Kelly dropped to 150,000

Nearly Brown Trousers Time

Jamie Brown had 3-bet preflop against Jack Ellwood and called the latter's 4-bet.

Ellwood fired out 35,000 on the {8-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} flop which Brown called before Ellwood (who had recently come 5th in the WCOOP Main Event) pushed all-in on the {10-Hearts} turn. Brown tanked for a minute or two before making the call with {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} - this was the worst hand Ellwood could see since he was holding {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds}. The river was the {4-Clubs} and Brown's kings held to push him up to 460,000.
