Comeback of the Day

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Robert Haigh is the front runner in the made up award race, "Comeback of the Day." The Brit started the day with only 14,100 chips and within one level he's managed to get a hold of 170,000 chips.

Just now Jonathan Concepcion raised preflop from the cutoff and and Haigh called from the button. The flop brought out {10-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Concepcion checked to Haigh who bet 7,000. The Spaniard now raised to 20,500 and Haigh made the call.

On the turn the {5-Hearts} hit and Concepcion moved all in and Haigh snap-called.

Robert Haigh: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Jonathan Concepcion: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}

The river brought the {3-Clubs} and Haigh doubled up again. Haigh is now just below the average stack while he started.

On Your Bike

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We heard a player yelling in Russian over on Table 7 moments ago, so we meandered over to see what was happening. When we arrived, we saw that Anatoly Gurtovoy had 76,200 sitting in front of him, and Walid Bou Habib was all in for a total of 107,600 - just 31,400 more.

Gurtovoy is Russian, but he wasn't the one who was upset, it was tablemate Mikhail Korotkikh.

After roughly two minutes, Gurtovoy folded, prompting half of the table to groan in disbelief, and Habib flashed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a pair of kings.

Korotkikh was warned after the hand for both cursing and speaking a non-English language at the table.

Margets Doubles Again

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen opened to 7,000 from the cutoff seat, and fellow pro Leo Margets three-bet shoved for 37,500 from the big blind. Jorgensen tank-called, and the hands were opened.

Jorgensen: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Margets: {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Jorgensen took the lead when the flop fell {3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, and remained ahead when the {10-Clubs} turned, but the {a-Spades} spiked on the river to give Margets a pair of aces. Relieved, she let a long sigh of relief and stretched her hands above her head.

She now sits with around 76,000 chips, while Jorgensen has roughly 310,000.

Sour Hand For Margets

Leo Margets
Leo Margets

John O'Shea raised to 7,000 after which Team PokerStars Pro Leo Margets moved all in for 66,000 chips. The action was folded to Carlo Citrone who called all in for 52,100. The player in the big blind tanked for quite some time on top of that but he eventually folded, as did O'Shea.

Leo Margets: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Carlo Citrone: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Citrone doubled up. Margets had just 13,000 chips left but doubled up on the very next hand against Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen. Margets moved all in and Jorgesen called from the big blind.

Leo Margets: {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Theo Jorgensen: {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and Margets doubled up. She still not safe for a spot in the money but at least she has some more time to find a good spot.

No Money For Luske

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Marcel Luske was sitting pretty on a big stack just half an hour ago but now it's all gone. First he lost aces versus kings against Full Tilt's Professional Viktor Blom and just now his final chips went to Rory Matthews.

Luske raised to 8,000 preflop and Matthews, who was sitting to his direct left, three-bet to 16,000. Both blinds folded and Luske made the call with around 20,000 chips left behind.

The flop brought out {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Luske moved all in right away and Matthews called.

Marcel Luske: {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Rory Matthews: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Clubs}, {9-Clubs} and Luske was knocked out.

Chris Moorman on Day 1b
Chris Moorman on Day 1b

On a {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop, Jose Manuel Nadal Sordo had fired 8,200 before Chris Moorman check-raised to 21,700 and Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier folded.

Sordo made the call to see the {9-Diamonds} on the turn and Moorman led out for 32,500 this time and again the PokerStars qualifier made the call. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Moorman bet a substantial 79,000, Sordo called again and Moorman turned over {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a full house.

Seun Oluwole Plays Back at Agerskoy

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Two PokerStars Qualifiers just went at it preflop and the initial raiser was Seun Oluwole who made it 6,200. Rasmus Agerskoy decided to three-bet to 17,200 after which the action was folded back to Oluwole. Oluwole put together some more chips and made it 38,700. Agerskoy immediately folded and Oluwole picket up another pot.

The money bubble is approaching and every pot becomes more and more tense as play goes on!

Wigg Catches River

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Manig Loeser opened to 6,000 from UTG and Anton Wigg made it 13,800 on the button. Pasi Sormunen then four-bet out of the big blind to 29,000.

Loeser folded but Wigg moved all in for 88,100 - the Finn took a count then made the call.

Wigg: {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Sormunen: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The former EPT Copenhagen winner was looking like he was to make an exit only to double up on the river when the board came {3-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Sheringham Short of the Money

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Teddy Sheringham on Day 2
Teddy Sheringham on Day 2

Teddy Sheringham was never the fastest player on the pitch (fastest mind though) when he was still playing so it seems fitting he lost a race to bust EPT London.

Manig Loeser opened to 6,000 from under the gun and Sheringham called from the next seat along with Gert Zumkehr before Pasi Sormunen squeezed to 24,000 from the big blind. Loeser and Zumkehr folded but Sheringham shoved for 83,600. Call.

Sheringham: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Sormunen: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to make Broadway for the Finn.
