Bustout

He said it was only the third hand he played, but high stakes online player Arnaud Mattern is off for an early bath. Queens did all the damage in two separate hands. In the first hand he laid them down on a {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop and was delighted that his opponent showed him {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

Then, Mattern on the button with queens again, seeing a mid-position raiser made it 500 (blinds 75/150) with one caller, and then a re-raise to 1,500. He just called. He wasn't 100% about this call, but when the board came down 6-6-4 he faced a 3k bet and with only 5,500 left he went for it. He was against {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and got no help.

Queens are my most hated hand too. :(

Stanislas's Last Stand

The scenario where its hard for somebody not to go broke has just reared its ugly head at Table 16. Briaud Stanislas’s pocket kings ran into Micheal Keiners pocket aces, and all the money went to the middle of the table before the flop. An ace on the flop gave Stanislas very little hope of outdrawing his opponent and he was out of the cardroom before Keiner could count up his now meaty stack of $26,000.

El Blondie

Dave Colclough is up to over 19K.

Rolf Weißhaupt on the button called a river bet (2500 into a 3500 pot) from Colclough when the board read {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and was rather annoyed to see Blondie turn over {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Apologies for the shortage of updates. Barry and I have been slumming it on the balcony above the tournament area, in order to pick up the Wi-Fi.

Blackout

We're having some internet problems in the media center at the moment - thanks to just too many connections. The latest news is that Andrew Black just ran {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} into {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and made a surprisingly early exit.

Half the room is currently on a 15-minute break.

Lee Watch - Mulligan is Steaming

Disaster. Our man Lee Mulligan has just made a schoolboy error. He wanted to make a bet of $700 into a $1000 pot but picked up the wrong chips and ended up sticking $2200 in by mistake, he had to throw his hand away when he was reraised all in.

Lee is furious with himself but with $6000 still in front of him he still has a fighting chance of getting back in the game, hang in there Lee.
