Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised from the cutoff to 40,000 and Max Altergott called from the button. Fabian Quoss called from the small blind and Scott Seiver did so as well from the big.
The flop brought and both blind checked to Mercier who bet 72,000. Altergott raised it up to 186,000 and all three his opponents folded. Altergott picked up a serious pot and is now very close to a two-million chip stack.

The flop fell and the action checked to Troyanovsky who bet 75,000. Altergott check-raised to 216,000 and the Russian was the only to see the turn. Both players checked to the river where Altergott led for 287,000. Troyanovsky tank-called and mucked upon seeing Altergott's for trips.

The river brought the and Altergott lead out for 90,000. Mizzi tanked for a while but eventually he folded his cards. Quoss tanked for a while as well but he did not fold. The German raised to 230,000 and Altergott thought about it for around two minutes and folded.
Phil Ivey needed fifth place or better to profit in this event after firing three bullets, but he would come up short as Jason Mercier eliminated the nine-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner in 10th place.
Vladimir Troyanovsky opened from early position before the Team PokerStars Pro three-bet from the small blind. Ivey was in the big blind and four-bet all in for 524,000. Troyanovsky folded to leave Mercier to make the call.
