Welcome to the Final Day of the 2018 OlyBet Kings of Tallinn €1,100 Main Event at Olympic Park Casino. After four days of play, the field of 268 entrants was trimmed down to a nine-max final table with all players having their eyes on the €62,000 top prize.

Juha Helppi, who has been playing in the big €50/€100 pot-limit Omaha cash games with €200 and €400 straddles with Patrik Antonius and others throughout the festival, heads into the final table in second place with 1,400,000. Other Finns at the final table include Arto Ilmari Loikkanen (third - 1,137,000), Quang Thanh Doan (sixth - 643,000) and Arto Antero Lehtonen (seventh - 626,000).

Silver Nommik Eliminated in 9th Place (€5,200)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Silver Nommik
Silver Nommik

Estonia's Silver Nommik was waiting for a spot to get his small stack in and his stack was down to 196,000 in chips.

He jammed all-in with {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} from the cut-off and was called by Arunas Garunkstis from the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

Nommik was a 2:1 underdog before the flop and was in a world of hurt after his opponent paired the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} needing a pair of runners for a save. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn wasn't one of them and Nommik's fate was sealed.

The Estonian was officially eliminated in ninth place for €5,200 after the {2-Hearts} completed the board on the river and the title will not stay in home soil.

Currently left in the field are five Finns, two Lithuanians and a Swede. Players are now all guaranteed a payout of at least the €6,200 slated for eighth place.

The action folded around to Finland's Quang Thanh Doan on the button. Doan jammed 352,000 with {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and got chip leader Totti Matias Arosuo to fold with {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Juha Helppi woke up with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and quickly called. Helppi was well ahead after the flop came {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. His lead became a little less with flush draws opening for Doan when the {8-Spades} appeared on the turn.

Doan's tournament life ended when the {2-Hearts} completed the board on the river and collected the eighth-place prize of €6,200. Meanwhile, Helppi became the second player to surpass the 2 million chip count.

All remaining players moved up the payout ladder with everyone remaining now guaranteed to walk away with at least €8,500.

Arto Ilmari Loikkanen opened to 80,000 from under the gun with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and got called by Totti Matias Arosuo with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} from one seat over and Arto Antero Lehtonen with {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} from the big blind.

The {J-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop gave Lehtonen two-pair, however, Arosuo had him dominated with a set. Both Lehtonen and Loikkanen checked before Arosuo bet 105,000.

Lehtonen jammed for 516,000. Loikkanen quickly folded and Arosuo as quickly called. Lehtonen was a huge underdog and unable to catch up after the {3-Spades} on the turn and the {4-Spades} on the river completed the board.

Lehtonen collected €8,500 for seventh-place and all remaining players are guaranteed a healthy five-figure payout of at least €10,800.

Juha Helppi opened from early position with {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, [Removed:174] called with {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} from late position before Totti Matias Arosuo called from the big blind with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

The {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} gave both Helppi and Arosuo, who had the two biggest stacks on the table, sets. Arosuo and Tamasauskas checked before Helppi bet 120,000. Arosuo raised to 295,000 and Tamasauskas got out of the way.

Helppi went into the tank before he called. Arosuo led out for 335,000 after the {7-Spades} paired the board on the turn and Helppi called.

Arosuo led out again, this time for 635,000 when the {j-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Helppi went into the tank before he declared himself all-in.

Arosuo went into deep thought for more than five minutes before he eventually laid down a full-house. After the hand, Helppi became the overwhelming chip leader despite the fact if Arosuo didn't make the sick fold he would have half the chips in play.

Loikkanen checked the {j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop. Nejad bet 125,000 with top pair and Loikkanen jammed to 630,000.

Nejad called and needed help. The {3-Clubs} on the turn and the {10-Hearts} on the river didn't improve the Swede's hand and he was eliminated in sixth place for €10,800.

Totti Matias Arosuo
Totti Matias Arosuo

Totti Matiask Arosuo began the day as chip leader but after making a huge laydown to Juha Helppi and losing a bad beat to Arunas Garunkstis, he found himself short on chips.

Helppi opened to 100,000 with {8-}{8-} and Arosuo jammed for 500,000 with {k-}{q-}. Helppi didn't waste too much time to call.

The {J-}{j-}{4-} flop didn't help Arosuo, however, the {10-} on the turn opened up more outs with an open-ended straight-draw. However, the {8-} river was didn't help Arosuo and gave Helppi a full house and he was eliminated in fifth place for €15,200.

Helppi now has more than half of the chips in play with a stack of 4,600,000 in chips.

Players are now on a break. The action will be back in 15 minutes with blinds at 30,000/60,000 with an ante of 5,000 with all players now guaranteed a payout of €19,800.

On Valentine's Day, the Kings of Tallinn poker festival got creative with a mystery event for Event #16. It turned out the event featured a €110 buy-in and the queen of hearts was wild whether in a hand or on the board.

Aki Pavel Vartinen managed to win this unique event for a healthy first-place prize of €1,800 along with a trophy. Behind Vartinen, three were three more Finns to take up the top four spots in the tournament including Mikael Anton Ilmari Niemela (second - €1,280), Jarkko Juhani Suokas (third - €850) and Jani Kristjan Rasinen (fourth - €530).

Juha Helppi opened from the button with {10-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Arunas Garunkstis jammed for 370,000 with {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts} from the small blind and Arto Ilmari Loikkanen folded from the big blind.

Helppi snap-called and was a little behind and still so on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop. He caught up on the {10-Diamonds} turn to give him a pair and Garunkstis was eliminated in third place for €25,000 after the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Players are now on a 10-minute unscheduled break with Helppi holding a more than 2:1 chip advantage in the battle of the Finns against Loikkanen when the action resumes. Players are now guaranteed €41,000 with the top prize paying €61,000. It would be shocking to see a deal made since Helppi has gone on record in the past how he prefer to play tournaments out to their completion.

Juha Helppi opened for 200,000 with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Arto Ilmari Loikkanen three-bet to 550,000 with {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Helppi four-bet shoved covering Loikkanen's remaining 2,200,000 in chips and got a call.
