Shortest Bubble Ever

While Jesse Mcleod was being counted out of the tournament, there was another all in at the adjacent table.

We join the pot as Guillaume Noel is all in holding {Q-Clubs}

. Ryan Fee had a big stack and put Noel to the test with {A-Clubs}

.

The board came out {2-Spades}

, and Fee's hand held, improving to two pair. With that, he eliminates Guillaume Noel on the money bubble before hand-for-hand play even started, much to the joy of the remaining 24 players.

Seats have now been re-drawn, and we're down to three eight-handed tables.

Bubble Time

Well, perhaps I spoke too soon. With the play grinding on for close to an hour, the dam has just burst. Within the last three minutes, we have lost four players. The last to go was Jesse Mcleod, finishing up in 26th place.

With that, we are on the money bubble and will be playing hand-for-hand.

A Stern Defeat

Max Stern, winner of three WSOP bracelets, has been eliminated just short of the money. He moved all in for his last 9,975 from under the gun, and got called by both Carter Gill and Maurice Molina. The two men checked it all the way down as the dealer ran out a board of {Q-Diamonds}

Stern tabled {A-Clubs}

for top-top, but Gill's {5-Spades}

had improved to a flush on the river. He delivers the final blow to Stern, who was short stacked for the last five or six levels of his tournament.

The hopes of the Stern family now rest on wife Maria, who is still alive and kicking, sitting with 75,000 in chips.

. Herrada found no help on the board, and headed for the rail shy of the money.

Pace of Play

The first hour of play was fast and furious as we saw nine people drop out in quick succession. Even a number of the big stacks were seemingly unafraid to tangle with their fellow leaders.

Now, things have changed considerably. The pace of play has slowed to a crawl, as most of the pots are being won with a single preflop raise. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to reach the money now, as we are just five eliminations away.

Another Big Showdown

Claus Rasmussen and Jesse Macleod just tangled in yet another big pot scenario here on Day 2. We join the action on the river with more than 55,000 already in the middle of the table.

The board reads {2-Diamonds}

. Rasmussen ends up as the all in player, pushing out his remaining 49,050 which is matched by Macleod. Rasmussen tables {J-Spades}

, and it's the winner, as Macleod slips his hand into the muck.

With that big win, Rasmussen has climbed up just over the 150,000-chip mark!

After the elimination of Abraham Rosenkrantz, the clock was paused for about six minutes while a table was broken. We are down to 30 players now on four tables, and play has resumed.

Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Brent Sheirbon opened the pot with a raise to 4,000, and Abraham Rosenkrantz made the call. Next to act was Joel Micka, and he bumped it up to 12,000. When it folded back around to Sheirbon, he moved all in with a big stack of about 104,000 total. Rosenkrantz was going nowhere, as he made the call. That was enough to get Micka out of the way and create a heads-up contest for a monster pot.

The board was a big dry desert for Rosenkrantz, coming out {9-Clubs}

. Sheirbon's aces held up to win him a massive pot and vault him into the chip lead. After the chips were counted, Rosenkrantz was just barely covered, and he will make a stunning exit, despite have a top five chip stack to begin play today. Sheirbon, on the other hand, is left with 220,000!

Quad Aces, of Sorts

Mike Collins opened the betting with a raise to 4,400 from under the gun. It passed all the way around the table to the blinds, where Maria Stern gave him a call from the big.

Heads up, the flop showed {7-Hearts}

. Stern checked over to Collins, allowing him to continue out with 6,500 chips. Not to be deterred, Stern put in a check-raise, adding an additional 20,000 to the bet. After pausing to think for a minute or two, Collins moved all in, and Stern quickly called.
