Even Stacks Battle

From middle position, Mark Hirleman opened with a raise to 4,000. Action passed around the table until Chase Chenoweth made the call from the small blind.

Heads up then, the flop brought {4-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {5-Hearts}. Chenoweth checked to the raiser, and Hirleman bet out another 4,000, which was quickly called.

Fourth street was the {9-Spades}. Hirleman was allowed to lead again, this time moving all in for exactly 14,000. Chenoweth went into the tank for several minutes before finally making the call, putting his opponent at risk of elimination.

Showdown
Hirleman: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}
Chenoweth: {A-Hearts} {J-Spades}

Looking for a jack but finding none, Chenoweth watched the river bring a useless {10-Spades}. He sends a double up over to Mark Hirleman, and is left with just 850 chips.

Almost Set for Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of the PokerStars.net LAPT San Jose. Yesterday saw 219 hopefuls vying for the title, but just 38 of them were left with chips by the time Level 10 ended late last night. By the end of the day today, another 30 of those will see their hopes dashed as well.

Rob Woodcock comes in to play with the big chip lead, courtesy of a massive rally towards the end of Day 1. He is sitting with more than 180,000 chips, almost 50,000 ahead of his nearest competitor. The full list of players and starting stacks can be found in the "Chip Counts" tab to the right.

Overnight, the seats were re-drawn, and we will post the full table assignments shortly. We're a little more than an hour away from our start time, so check back with us at noon local time as we make a run for the final table!
