The 16 remaining players are on their first break of the day. In the meantime watch Nicki Pickering as she hosts a "Rock Scissors Paper Battle", playing a little word association with the Lerner brothers to find out if they have twin ESP:
Samar Hodali has been an unpredictable, dangerous player here in Lima. She opened a recent pot to 31,000 from the cutoff, then called after small blind Mayu Roca three-bet to 82,000. Roca had first action on an ace-high flop, , and bet 76,000, about a third of his remaining stack. Hoali stared intently across the table for about a minute before announcing she was all in. A dejected Roca quickly folded.

It looked like the hand was headed for a chop until the flop came all spades, , to give Gonzales the nut flush draw. He didn't fill that draw with the turn, but the river was the spade, , that ended Varela's day.
The tournament is now on a pause for the two-table re-draw.
The pace of eliminations has been relentless in the first 90 minutes of play. The latest casualty is Juan Carlos Rodriguez, who ran ace-jack into Daniel Ospina's pocket jacks and did not improve.
Yacin Vasquez ran into a case of very bad timing. After Michel Barham opened to 35,000, Vasquez squeezed out and moved all in for 120,000 total. Action passed to Alcides Tovar in the blinds, who moved in for 118,000 -- with pocket aces. Barham elected to pass, leaving Vasquez and Tovar to fit it out for the pot. Aces held, . Losing that pot left Vasquez with just 2,000. He was eliminated the next hand by Leonardo Zepeda.
We didn't see the hand but we did see Ernest Kajiura stand up from the feature table and shake hands with each of the other players. He appears to have been eliminated in 20th place by Pablo Gonzales. According to the PokerStarsBlog, Kajiura bet 35,000 on the turn of a board after Gonzales checked. Gonzales tanked for a few minutes before he emphatically slammed a tower of blue chips forward. Kajiura moved all-in and Gonzales called with . Kajiura showed down . The river didn't help Kajiura.
Hernan Reyes got the best of Leonardo Zepeda once already today but he couldn't do it a second time. Reyes opened to 37,000 pre-flop, then announced, "Pago" after Zepeda moved all in. Reyes was at risk with pocket tens; Zepeda was in command with pocket jacks. Jacks held on a board of to end Reyes' tournament in 21st place.
