Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves

The Grinder and Huck Seed
The Grinder and Huck Seed
On the button, Huck Seed moved all in holding {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, putting Michael Mizrachi to a decision for all of his chips. Mizrachi called and showed a {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. As the dealer spread the flop, a six showed in the door giving Huck the lead, which turned out to be all he'd need as the board did not improve for the man they call "The Grinder."

Huck Seed is the first player into the quarter finals where he awaits the winner of the David Benyamine v. Doyle Brunson duel.

Deeb Fouls One Off to Stay Alive

Freddy Deeb shoved pre-flop with {K-Spades}{3-Hearts} and was instanly called by Orel Hershiser who held {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. The board filled out {K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Hearts} giving Deeb a baby flush to keep him alive in the tournament. After the hand, Orel still has a 3-1 chip advantage.

Moments after doubling up, Freddy Deeb put his new chips back in action holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was given action by Orel Hershiser who tabled a pocket pair of jacks. The board blanked out ace-high and Hersh's jacks held up to win the match, earning him a spot in tomorrow's quarterfinals.

The win also enabled Orel to add more ink to his ball, with the addition of Freddy Deeb's autograph. With three down and three to go, Orel continues to look solid against some of the world's top poker pros. The winner of the Scott Fischman v. Andy Bloch match is on deck.

Bloch Goes Runner, Runner Into the Quarterfinals

Andy Bloch and Scott Fischman got it all in pre-flop for Fischman's tournament life; Bloch held {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to Fischman's {K-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Fischman survived the flop of {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and held the only club, but the {5-Diamonds} on the turn gave Bloch additional outs for a flush. The river delivered the {2-Diamonds} and proved fatal to Scott Fischman's championship aspirations.

Bloch will face Orel Hershiser in the quarterfinal of the Hearts portion of the bracket.

Benyamine Busts Brunson

Texas Dolly
Texas Dolly
Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson has just been eliminated from the tournament by fellow pro David Benyamine; here's how the hand went down:

David made a standard raise from the button holding a poacket pair of jacks. Doyle then countered by moving all in over the top of Benyamine's bet, and David made the call. When it was time to table the cards, Doyle flipped over the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, in major trouble against Benyamine's jacks.

The board eventually blanked out eight-high and Benyamine's jacks were good enough to send Doyle to the rail. Brunson received a warm round of applause from the crowd in his exit.

Now guaranteed a minimum payday of $75,000, Benyamine will face off against 4-time NBC Heads-Up money winner Huck Seed in tomorrow's quarterfinals.
