Gill Back on Top

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Harpreet Gill is back in the lead after putting on lots of pressure. With action at the flop and the cards reading {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, his one opponent bet 5,100 into the pot of about 18,000 already in the middle. Gill raised big to 28,000.

His opponent sat back in his chair with a sigh and spent a long time thinking. Eventually, the clock was called and counted down.

"I think I have you," he said. But as the clock came close to zero, he threw his cards in the muck.

Nasir Check-Raises the Turn

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

When a player raised to 1,200 preflop, Playground Poker Club's most recent WPT champion Sheraz Nasir was one of two players to call and see a flop of {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

First to act, Nasir checked and was the only player to call his opponent's bet of 1,600.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and Nasir checked again. His opponent bet 3,500 and Nasir raised it up to 8,500. Shortly after, he scooped up the pot as the other player gave up his cards.

McLaughlin Leading

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Harpreet Gill, our previous chip leader, is no longer on top after doubling up a player at his table, though he's still one of the top counts. But we noticed that Marc-Etienne McLaughlin suddenly has stacks in front of him. With 128,000 to play with, he likely has the most chips of anyone in the room.

Multiway Flop for Hall

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Cate Hall was the first in the pot with a raise to 900 from the hijack seat and three players called. The flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{a-Clubs} and all four players checked.

The dealer turned the {9-Diamonds} and the two players in the blinds checked to Hall. She bet 2,600 and the player on the button raised to 5,500. It folded back around to Hall who thought for a moment before calling.

The river card was the {k-Hearts} and Hall checked. Her opponent bet 7,200 and won the pot when Hall gave up her hand.
