The Final Starting Flight Ready for Takeoff

World Poker Tour is ready to fire Day 1c, the final starting day in its third Canadian event of 2015. Partypoker.net WPT Montreal is hosted by Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake, Quebec, just across the St. Lawrence river from beautiful and historic downtown Montreal.

With three Day 1s, there was plenty of opportunity for players to turn their $3,850 buy-in into a Day 2 stack. Day 1c kicks off at 11 a.m. on Sunday for their final chance. Then, those remaining return for Monday's Day 2. The tournament has a next-day reentry format, so players who were eliminated on Day 1a or 1b can return and buy in again on Day 1c. If a player is lucky enough to survive more than one starting day, their largest stack will be carried to Day 2.

Day 1b concluded with Abdallah Aljboul holding the most chips with 252,300. Freddy Deeb finished with the fourth-best stack of 180,000. There were 235 entries for Day 1b with 96 of them still holding chips for Day 2. That puts the current total at 141 Day 2 players out of 362 entries.

Last year, this event saw 732 entries to create a prize pool of $2,485,140 CAD and the final table was packed full of talent. Jonathan Jaffe won the title for $464,252, but also joining him within the top 10 were the likes of Mukul Pahuja (third - $201,920), Kevin MacPhee (fourth - $149,340), Sam Chartier (fifth - $111,820), and Marc-Andre Ladouceur (ninth - $44,680). Jaffe bagged a stack on Day 1b to defend his title here in Montreal.
