Blind Battle

Action folded around to the blinds, and Dwyte Pilgrim moved all in with his short stack holding {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}. Brent Roberts was in the big blind with his big stack, and he quickly called, tabling {K-Hearts} {7-Spades}.

The board ran out in favor of both players as it came {J-Spades} {2-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}, giving each of them the matching Broadway straight. No chips are exchanged, and it's on to the next hand.

Big Stacks Tangling

Brent Roberts opened with an early-position raise to 36,000. Allen Bari called as did Dwyte Pilgrim in the big blind.

Three-handed, the flop brought {A-Spades} {10-Spades} {2-Diamonds}. Pilgrim checked, and Roberts continued out with a bet of 52,000. Bari flat-called, while Pilgrim let his hand go.

Fourth street was the {5-Spades} and both players checked.

The river brought the {5-Diamonds}. Roberts again passed, and Bari seized the chance to bet 78,000. That was enough to win him the hand as Roberts slipped his cards into the muck.

McLaughlin Chipping Up

On the button, Robert McLaughlin raised to 41,000 and Dwyte Pilgrim called out of the big blind. The flop came {J-Spades} {3-Hearts} {6-Clubs} and Pilgrim led out for 41,000, but McLaughlin raised enough to set his opponent all in. Pilgrim folded and is down to 80,000.

Robert McLaughlin is now sitting at 470,000.

The Story So Far

In our first four hands, we had three all ins and saw one player eliminated. After that initial flurry of action, things have calmed down a bit now. We're still seeing a few flops here and there, but none of the pots have been hotly-contested in the last orbit.

We'll have to wait and see how play progresses as the players become more comfortable with their table mates.

Rafael Camejo Eliminated in 9th Place ($17,342)

Rafael Camejo - 9th Place
Rafael Camejo - 9th Place
Rafael Camejo opened to 34,000 from early position and Robert McLaughlin raised all in from middle position having Rafael slightly covered. Rafael called and tabled {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}, but was trailing McLaughlin's {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}. The board rolled out {3-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {10-Spades} {K-Clubs} {9-Spades} and McLaughlin won the hand to vault up to 415,000 chips.

Rafael Camejo exited the stage as the 9th place finisher for $17,342.

McLaughlin Dominated

Action was folded around to the blinds for this hand. Robert McLaughlin was the small blind, and he moved all in for a total of 103,000. Kyle Bowker thought for a minute before making the call, putting McLaughlin on the brink.

Showdown:
McLaughlin: {10-Clubs} {6-Hearts}
Bowker: {Q-Hearts} {10-Spades}

The flop paired both players but kept Bowker in the lead as it came {J-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {10-Hearts}. The turn was a useless {9-Spades}, putting McLaughlin just one step away from the exit.

Lightning struck the river though. The {6-Clubs} peeled off as McLaughlin found one of his three outs. His two pair was good enough to win the pot, doubling him up to 220,000.
