Day 3 On the Horizon

Chip leader, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi
Chip leader, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi
The second day of play concluded last night with just sixteen players remaining. Out of those players left, poker superstar Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is the chip leader with 646,000 chips. The player in second on the leaderboard is none other than two-time Circuit championship ring holder Dwyte Pilgrim.

The player who holds the record for most WSOP-C victories is also still in the hunt. That would be Men "The Master" Nguyen and he has a total of four Circuit wins. Matt Brady and Justin Bonomo remain, along with WSOP gold bracelet holders Robert Cheung and Matt Graham.

The plan is to play all the way through the event today until we have a winner. We're scheduled to begin shortly at noon local time, so stay tuned for all the live action from right here at Caesars in Las Vegas!

Matt LaGarde Eliminated in 16th Place ($15,697)

Matt LaGarde (Day 2) - 16th place
Matt LaGarde (Day 2) - 16th place
Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi raised to 21,000 and action folded over to Matt LaGarde on the button. He moved all in for 94,000 total. Everyone folded and then a brief moment ensued before Mizrachi made the call.

Showdown:
LaGarde: {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades}
Mizrachi: {K-Hearts} {10-Clubs}

The flop put The Grinder in the lead when it came {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {2-Spades}. LaGarde would need some help on the turn or river to stay alive.

The turn was the {8-Spades}, not much there for LaGarde as he stood from his chair to watch the river. The final card was the {9-Diamonds} and that would be it for him.

He earned $15,697 for his finish.

Good DeGreef

In an early pot, Jeremiah DeGreef raised to 20,000 from the button and was called by Jack Schanbacher out of the small blind. Both players checked the flop of {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {3-Spades}, and Schanbacher led out for 29,000 after the {2-Clubs} hit the turn. DeGreef called.

When the {Q-Clubs} hit the river, Schanbacher took awhile to size his bet before leading out for 54,000. An unhappy DeGreef asked "Really?" before making the call. When Schanbacher turned up {2-Hearts} {2-Spades} for the turned house, DeGreef's cards hit the muck.

Schanbacher is now sitting on about 373,000 while DeGreef has slipped to 112,000

Bullets Backfire for Mizrachi

Serebryakov is the NEW chip leader!
Serebryakov is the NEW chip leader!
From early position, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi bet 40,000 on a flop of {J-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Spades} after Evgeny Serebryakov checked. Dwyte Pilgrim made the call and then Serebryakov called as well.

The three players saw the turn {K-Clubs} and Serebryakov checked again. Mizrachi fired 70,000 and both Pilgrim and Serebryakov called.

The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Serebryakov led for 100,000 into his two opponents. The Grinder made the call while Pilgrim folded. Serebryakov showed pocket threes for a flopped set and Mizrachi mucked his hand. Mizrachi mentioned he held pocket aces.

Serebryakov now has a whopping 900,000!

Manuel Adel Doubles Up

Adel raised to 21,000 from middle position and was called by Justin Bonomo from the small blind. Both players checked the flop of {10-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} and Bonomo bet 30,000 when the {J-Spades} hit the turn.

Adel pushed all in and Bonomo called, turning over {10-?} {8-?} for a flopped two pair, while Adel turned over {J-Hearts} {K-Spades} for a better two pair. A king on the river sealed the deal and Adel is now up to about 300,000.

Ian Woodley Eliminated in 15th Place ($17,939)

Ian Woodley (Day 2) - 15th Place
Ian Woodley (Day 2) - 15th Place
Ian Woodley was all in preflop against young poker professional Justin Bonomo. Bonomo held two overcards with {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} to Woodley's pocket fives.

The board ran out {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {7-Hearts} {J-Clubs} to give Bonomo the win and send the 48-year-old London, England native Woodley to the rail. Woodley finished in 15th place and took home almost $18,000 for his finish.

A Big Pot Brews

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi raised from early position to 20,000. Nashaat "Tony" Antonias called, as did Men "The Master" Nguyen. The flop came down {8-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts}.

The Grinder bet 30,000 and Antonias called. Nguyen also called, leaving himself with only 60,000 chips behind.

The turn brought the {4-Spades}, pairing the board, and Mizrachi fired 60,000. Antonias called and Nguyen folded.

The river was the {10-Hearts}, completing a possible flush draw, and Mizrachi checked. Antonias moved all in for 185,000. Mizrachi folded and Antonias took the big pot, moving to 460,000 in chips.
