Ken Jorgensen was crippled in earlier action and was grinding out his 50,000 stack. He was finally in the big blind and shoved with out looking after a raise from Dennis Pevarnick, and he called.
Jorgensen had and Pevarnick had pocket queens. Jorgensen couldn't connect on the board and was sent to the payout desk.
From early position, Glenn Martinez opened the pot with a raise to 35,000, and the table folded around to the blinds. In the small, Art Molloy moved all in for about 100,000, and Martinez made the call to put him to the test.
Showdown
Martinez:
Molloy:
Molloy was a bit upset at the bad spot he'd found himself in, but there wasn't much he could do. "These hands play themselves," Martinez reassured him.
There was a sweat on the turn, but Molloy could ultimately not catch up as the board ran out . His day is done in 16th place, and the rest of the field will earn a little pay bump going forward.
Our remaining 16 players are off for their final ten-minute break of Day 2. When they return, they'll play on for two more levels of seven knockouts, whichever comes first.
Nick Long was very short on chips, and he open-shoved first into the pot from late position. He was working with , and Hank Czarnecki looked him up with from the blinds.
The looked like good news for Long, but things would go south in a hurry. The turn and river allowed Czarnecki to run down his straight, and with it comes the rest of Long's chips.
We've lost another player, and it's Nick Long out in 17th place. That's good for a consolation prize of $5,728.
Glenn Martinez opened up for 28,000, Eric Yilmaz called from the button and Hank Czarnick shoved from the big blind. Martinez called after a few moments and Yilmaz folded. The pair were heads up and the cards were tabled.
Martinez:
Czarnecki:
The board rolled out and Martinez doubled up with big slick.
