Zhong Chen Doubles Through Jared Ingles

We all know how brutal a game poker can be, but in case you didn't know, here's a reminder. Baptiste Chavaillaz raised to 110,000 from under the gun, and Zhong Chen put in a three bet to 250,000. Jared Ingles was next to act, and he peeked down at his cards, tanked for a minute, then raised to 505,000.

Chavaillaz folded fairly quickly, and it was back to Chen. He tanked for 15 seconds before moving all in, and Ingles looked at the dealer, nodded his head, and said "I call."

Chen: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Ingles: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Chen would need a ton of help, and he caught a queen in the window on a {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop. Chen was now very live, needing another queen or a ten to win, but the turn paid the board, the {4-Diamonds}. This gave Ingles two pair, and Chen could now get a queen and a queen only. Well, you read the title, so you know what happened.

River: {q-Diamonds}

Everyone watching let out a collective gasp, while the two quietest people in the room were Chen and Ingles. The chips were counted out, and Chen secured a double up to 5.4 million. Meanwhile, Ingles is now our short stack with 2.48 million.

Walk It Out

Level 31 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Play was fast and furious for most of the day, but four handed, it has been very slow, with a big hand every ten minutes or so. This was evidenced by the last four hands, where three of them ended in walks for the big blind.

"You Folded a Four Bro?"

Action started on Jared Ingles, who folded. On the button Eric Varela limped in for 60,000. Baptiste Chavaillaz called from the small blind and Zhong Chen checked his option.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Chavaillaz checked. Chen checked. Varela bet out 75,000. Then Chavaillaz put in a check raise to 175,000. Varela mucked and Chavaillaz showed the {4-Spades}.

"I had one of those too," Varela said. "I just think your kicker was higher than mine."

"You folded a four bro?" Chavaillaz asked after the hand.

Regardless of whether the story is true or not, Varela now has 2,565,000 while Chavaillaz has 3,365,000.

Chen Bets The Whole Way

Zhong Chen and Eric Varela were heads up on a {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Varela checked to Chen, who fired out 80,000. Varela called, and he check called a bet of 100,000 when the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn. The river was the {10-Spades}, and Varela checked a third time. Chen announced "125" for a bet of 125,000, and Varela called again.

Chen rolled over {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a turned flush, and Varela mucked his hand. After that pot, Varela is our short stack with 2.3 million, while Chen pads his chip leader stack.

Chavaillaz Wins a Three Bet Pot

Action started on Eric Varela who folded under the gun. Baptiste Chavaillaz raised to 125,000 on the button and action folded to Jared Ingles in the big blind. Ingles put in a three bet to 335,000.

"How much do you have?" Chavaillaz asked Ingles

"I have about 2.5, but that's not counting this," he said pointing at his bet. Chavaillaz nodded before making the call. The flop came {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and this time Chavaillaz bet out 190,000. Ingles called.

On the {6-Hearts} river, both players checked again. Ingles showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, but Chavaillaz showed {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, just pipping Ingles pair.

Chavaillaz is up to 4,300,000 after that hand.

"Did You Say Raise?"

Jared Ingles raised to 120,000 first to act, and he got a call from Eric Varela on the button and Zhong Chen in the big blind. The dealer fanned a {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and it was checked around. Chen led for 200,000 when the {7-Hearts} hit the turn, and Ingles was the lone caller.

The river brought the {3-Spades}, and Chen checked to Ingles, who fired out 380,000. Chen thought for just a few moments before softly announcing "raise."

"Did you say raise?" Ingles asked Chen. When Chen nodded his head, Ingles immediately grabbed his hand and threw it into the muck. With that hand, Chen is up to 6.145 million, while Ingles gets shorter, with just 1.385 million.

Ingles Scoops Massive Pot

Baptiste Chavaillaz raised to 125,000 first to act, and he was met by a three bet to 295,000 from Jared Ingles. Chavaillaz made the call, and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Chavaillaz checked, and Ingles fired out 185,000. Chavaillaz called, and when the {4-Clubs} hit the turn, Chavaillaz check called a bet of 385,000 from Ingles.

The river brought the {j-Clubs}, and Chavaillaz checked a third time. Ingles assembled a tower of yellow T25,000 chips, and eventually fired out a bet of 635,000. Chavaillaz spent a couple minutes in the tank before finding a call, and Ingles rolled over {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for a rivered two pair. Chavaillaz sighed and looked up at the ceiling before revealing {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and sent the chips over to Ingles.

After that hand, Ingles is back to second in chips at 3.79 million, while Chavaillaz drops to 2.995 million.

Baptiste Takes Another From Chen Just Before Break

Action started on Baptiste Chavaillaz who made it 125,000. Zhong Chen made the call from the button, while Jared Ingles folded from the small blind. Eric Varela also called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Varela checked. Chavaillaz made it 175,000 and he was called by both players.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Varela checked again. Chavaillaz made one more bet, this time to 320,000. Chen called once more, but this time Varela folded.

The river came the {2-Clubs}. Chavaillaz still had one more bet in the tank, this one for 120,000. No that's not a typo. Without much thought, Chen folded.

With that pot, Chavaillaz is now up to 4,175,000.
