Le Flushes Roussakis

Erik Roussakis is still alive in his quest for back-to-back Circuit final tables, but that dream just took a hit. We caught up with Roussakis heads up with Dien Le on the turn, with the board showing {k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}. Le checked to Roussakis, who fired out 25,000. Le tagged along, and the river brought the {2-Clubs}. Le cut out betting chips, and put in 63,000. It didn't take Roussakis very long to call, and Le rolled over {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flush.

Roussakis tossed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} face up, and took a hit to 273,000. Meanwhile, Le is back up to 315,000 after that hand.

No Bad Beat Jackpots in the Tournament Room!

"Wowwww straight flush vs quads!" This is what we heard from the far table of the tournament, so we had to run over and scope it out. When we got there, we saw that Greg Goodman held {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} on a board that read {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Normally, that would be a mortal lock for the win, but Igor Zekster held the one hand that could beat him: {6-Spades}{4-Spades}. According to the players at the table, the money got in on the flop.

It was a brutal beat for Goodman, but to his credit, he took it very well. In fact, of all the people laughing at the table, he might have been laughing the loudest. Unfortunately for him, there is no bad beat jackpot in this tournament, but he does have a consolation prize of over $3,500. Meanwhile, Igot Zekster is now sitting on 290,000.

Bundy Hanging Tough

Jason Bundy has worked himself among the chip leaders throughout the day and is still hanging steady with the best of them.

In a recent hand, Bundy limped in middle position. The player on the button raised to 21,000, and Bundy called the raise.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and action went check, check. On the {8-Hearts} turn, Bundy bet out 21,000 this time, and the other player folded, but not before flashing his {6-}{6-}.

Bundy showed the {J-Spades} though before mucking his hand. With that, Bundy moved to just about 645,000 in chips.

Le Makes Big Shove

Action started with Jared Ingles raising to 12,000 from under the gun. It folded around to David Malka on the button, and he made the call. Dien Le was next to act in the small blind, and he elected to make a big shove, moving all in for 176,000. Ingles tanked for about a minute before folding, and Malka did the same thing.

After that pot, Le is up to 220,000.

Randall Gets Caught

We walked up to the table and saw that David Randall and Nam Le were in a three way pot with one other player. The flop read {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and it was checked to Randall, who fired out 37,000. His opponent made the call, leaving himself with just 11,000 after. Le got out of the way, and when the {7-Diamonds} hit the turn, the chips went in.

Randall: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Despite having just queen high, Randall was drawing very live, as a non spade queen, jack, or ten would do it for him. However, the {5-Hearts} hit the river, and Randall lost the pot.

After that hit, Randall is back down to 400,000.

Tehan Can't Take Another Scalp

Action had folded to Joe Tehan in the cutoff and he opened the action with a raise to 13,000. The player on the button decided to move all in over the top for 61,000 total. Action folded back to Tehan who, after thinking it over for a bit, made the call.

Tehan: {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Button: {K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} and that was enough to give the other player the double up while Joe Tehan fell to just around 420,000 in chips.

A New Chip Leader

We just saw an insane hand that created a new chip leader. Jared Ingles got all his chips in preflop one opponent holding {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} while his opponent was holding {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Ingles had more than 320,000 to start the hand and his opponent had a covering stack.

The flop fell {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts} giving Ingles top pair and the lead. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the river was the {10-Clubs} securing the pot for Ingles. With that double up, Ingles now has just about 700,000 and is likely the chip leader in the room. Ingles started the day with 137,000 but has now created a giant stack for himself.

We'll be sure to keep an eye on hip progress through the rest of the day.
