They Are Playing Heads Up

Level 1 : 150/300, 0 ante

"Yeah, always just Stipo and me," Jan-Peter Jachtmann said. In a three-way limped pot, the flop came {3-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Jachtmann bet 500 after his two opponents had checked. Only Stipo Vladic called from the small blind and the {7-Spades} on the turn saw a check-call by the Austria for 1,200. The {6-Hearts} river filled up the board and both players talked about what the other could have as hole cards.

Eventually they settled for a check each and Vladic had to show first as he was in the small blind, revealing {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. "Awww, such a pity," Jachtmann grinned and turned over the {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} as winning hand. Exactly one hand later, Vladic raised to 600 from the button and much to the surprise of everyone, Jachtmann gave up his big blind.

Aleksandar Tomovic Bluffs to Win First Hand on Feature Table

Level 1 : 150/300, 0 ante

Over on the feature table, Paul Newey raises the action under the gun to 800 with {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, with Besim Hot calling with {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Aleksandar Tomovic coming along with {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} with the rest of the action folding.

The action checks to Tomovic on the flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs}, who leads out for 1,500 chips. Newey calls, while Hot tosses his hand into the muck. Both players check when the {j-Diamonds} appears on the turn. After the {5-Diamonds} appears on the river folds after Tomovic bets out 3,200 when the action is checked over to him.

Nowak Shows Top Set

Level 1 : 150/300, 0 ante

Rebato Nowak limped in and Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Elliot Smith and Franco Cantarella also tossed in the 300 chips. Stipo Vladic raised to 1,500 and Nowak was the only player to call the raise. On the flop {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, Vladic checked and then folded to a bet worth 3,500 by Nowak, who then flashed the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top set.

Jachtmann Busts First Bullet

Stipo Vladic raised to 700 and Renato Nowak squeezed to 2,300 from the button before Jan-Peter Jachtmann four-bet out of the small blind for 6,500. Vladic quickly got out of the way and then Nowak clicked to 15,300. Jachtmann called and they saw the flop of {2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

Jachtmann checked and Nowak bet 25,000. "Why so much?" the German asked his opponent. "Did you plan to take a reentry?" he continued and Nowak just shook his head. "You?" he asked back. More small talk followed and then Jachtmann moved all in to get a quick call from Nowak.

Nowak: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Jachtmann: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

Both the {2-Spades} turn and the {9-Hearts} river blanked and Jachtmann was eliminated for now, though he can still reenter today. "No problem. I thought he was not feeling confident," the German said and headed to the rail. To balance the tables, Patrik Antonius was moved over from the feature table.

Besim Hot Flops a Straight Against Antonius

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

On the feature table, Pierre Mothes kicked opened to 700 from the hijack with {a-Spades}{4-Spades}. Patrik Antonius called from the cut-off with {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and Hot called from the big blind with {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

The {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was sure to bring action as Hot flopped a straight, Antoinius middle-pair and a straight flush draw, and Mothes with a straight draw. The action folded around to Antonius who bet 1,300 which both players called.

The {a-Clubs} gave Mothes top-pair, however, he was able to get away from the hand after Antonius bet 5,500 chips and Hot check-raised to 13,000.

After Antonius called the raise, the {5-Hearts} appeared on the turn, giving Antonius three-of-a-kind. Hot led out the action for 20,000. Antonius called the bet after thinking about it for a couple of minutes, and the pot was shipped over to Hot after his flopped straight held through the river.

Smith Not with a Good Start

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

In a three-way pot to the flop {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, Franco Cantarella bet 9,500 into a pot of 14,200 against Stipo Vladic and Evangelos Vrakas to enforce two folds.

One hand later, Renato Nowak raised to 700 and Elliot Smith called on the button to see a heads-up flop of {J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. Nowak checked and Smith bet 800 before quickly folding to a check-raise of 2,200 by Nowak. The Canadian has not started well so far and lost one fourth of the starting stack.

Show One, Show All

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

In a five-way pot to the {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, Stipo Vladic bet 1,600 from the cutoff and all opponents folded. Vladic proudly showed the {K-Diamonds} to all opponents and the edge of the second card could possibly be seen by Renato Nowak, who saw the card last. Franco Cantarella complained about that by the dealer but soon after play continued.

Cantarella received a plate with fresh fruits and his mood lightened up very quickly.

Straight for Smith

Level 2 : 150/300, 25 ante

Stipo Vladic raised to 700 and Patrik Antonius as well as Elliot Smith called in the blinds. On the flop {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} all three players checked and the {8-Diamonds} on the turn saw a check from Antonius and a bet of 1,500 by Smith. Vladic called and the Finn folded as shortest stack at the table with only slightly more than 200 big blinds.

The {9-Hearts} river completed the board and Smith's value-bet of 3,000 was called by Vladic, who then mucked his cards when he was shown the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} by Smith.
