Zimmerman Scoops

We pick up the action after the flop, with the board showing {9-Spades} {7-Spades} {4-Diamonds}. The turn brings the {7-Diamonds}. David Rheem bets out. A player next to him raises, and Raphael Zimmerman three bets it in position. Both of his opponents call.

The river is the {5-Diamonds}. Action is checked to Zimmerman. He makes a bet, and Rheem is the only opponent to call this time.

Zimmerman shows down {2-Spades} {3-Spades} {6-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}, picking up a straight on the river, and scooping the pot from Rheem. After fighting back from just 1,500 chips, Zimmerman has climbed all the way back over 25,000.

Hoosh Your Daddy

Kia Hooshmand limped in from early position, and Jan von Halle raised it up. Hooshmand was the lone caller.

The flop brought {K-?} {J-?} {3-?}. A bet from Hooshmand put von Halle all in, and he made the call, showing down {A-?} {Q-?} {3-?} {6-?}. He was at risk against Hooshmand's {A-?} {Q-?} {10-?} {7-?}.

The rest of the board failed to hit von Halle, as the {9-?}. {8-?} that followed made a straight for his opponent, and sent him towards the exit early. Hooshmand, meanwhile, has chipped up to 32,000.

Zimmerman Not Going Quietly

Raphael Zimmerman has been nursing a short stack for quite some time now, and has been all in on several occasions.

We pick up another recent pot on the flop, with the board reading {Q-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}. Zimmerman bets out, and David Rheem and one other player make the call.

The turn is the {4-Spades}. Zimmerman bets out again, this time enough to put him familiarly all in. Both of his opponents call.

Fifth street is the {8-Hearts}. With Zimmerman unable to put any more chips in, the early-position player bets, and Rheem makes the call.

The hands are shown down:
Early position: {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {5-Spades} {10-Clubs}
Rheem: {3-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {K-Hearts}
Zimmerman: {A-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {7-Spades}.

Zimmerman wins the high half, bumping him back up to 4,500.

Von Halle Doubles

Sitting with the button, Jan von Halle and another player see a flop of {9-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {5-Clubs}. The action is capped, until von Halle is all in for just over 6,000. He shows down {10-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}, and scoops the pot as the board runs out {Q-Spades}, {10-Diamonds}.

Von Halle more than doubled up to 14,000.

Cernuto Drags One In

"Miami" John Cernuto limps in from under the gun, another player joins him, and action comes back to Scott Clements in the big blind, who checks his option.

The three men take the flop of {3-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}. It checks around.

The turn is the {7-Spades}. Action is checked to the player in late position, and he bets. When it gets back to Cernuto, he bumps it up, and his lone opponent calls.

The river is the {K-Diamonds}. Cernuto bets out, and the other player folds, as "Miami" John rakes in a nice uncontested pot, upping his stack to a healthy 49,000.

Who's Scared of a Mouse?

Jimmy Fricke
Jimmy Fricke
From under the gun, Jimmy "gobboboy" Fricke comes in with a raise. Action folds around to Mickey "Mouse" Mills, who goes all in for his remaining 1,800. Fricke calls.

The board runs out {9-?} {2-?} {6-?} {5-?} {2-?}. Fricke scoops up the pot, and Mills angrily open mucks his cards: {A-?} {A-?} {10-?} {10-?}. On his way out, he advises the table, "Make sure you make a good note of that. Wow! Raising under the gun with 2-3-7-7."

Getting Rheem-ed

Before the flop, David Rheem opens the pot with a raise. He gets one caller to come along, and the two men go heads up to the flop.

The dealer spreads out {10-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds}. Rheem bets, and his opponent makes the call.

The turn is the {6-Hearts}. Same action: bet, call.

As the dealer is about to put down the river card, Rheem makes a dark bet, and his opponent calls when the {2-Hearts} hits. Rheem tables {3-?} {5-?} {6-?} {10-?}, and scoops up the pot.

Slow and Steady

In a repeat performance of yesterday, play seems to be slow going in the first level here today. A number of short stacks have been eliminated, but those who have adequate chips appear to be disinclined to splash around too much, as they get a feel for their new table mates.
