Kessler Caught In The Middle

Stud-8:

We caught the action on fifth street with Marco Traniello raising the bet of his opponent, who was showing {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Traniello showed {8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{3-Clubs} but Allen Kessler flat-called the raise with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The third player then reraised again with Traniello and Kessler flat-calling.

On sixth street the third player bet out with the {6-Hearts} and Traniello called with the {6-Clubs} as did Kessler with the {8-Spades}.

On the river the third player bet out once again and Traniello squeezed his cards before announcing a raise. Kessler sighed and tossed his cards and the third player made the call.

Traniello showed ({5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}) {8-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the low as his opponent flipped (9-9-9) {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a full house to collect the high.

After the hand Kessler was left with only about 4,500 in chips.

Play Slowing a Bit

It has been a while since our last elimination. Since it is the last level, a lot of people are trying to hold onto some chips to make it into tomorrow. Chances are in the next 30 minutes or so we will see some players try and double up to pick up some chips or go home so that they can start a new tournament tomorrow.

Annie Duke Nearly Triples Up

Razz:

Annie Duke was involved in a big three-way pot. All streets were bet to the end. Duke bet out on the river showing {A-?} {6-?} {9-?} {A-?} . She received a call from both of her opponents. One was showing {2-?} {7-?} {5-?} {K-?} and the other was showing {3-?} {5-?} {K-?} {4-?}.

Duke tabled a 9-6 low which was good enough to take the pot.

After the pot, Duke is up to 24,000 in chips.

Stud:

Perry Friedman was the bring-in and committed the last of his chips on third street. The boards ran out:

Friedman: {3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Friedman bricked while his opponent made a pair of aces which were good to send Friedman to the exit.

"I Missed..."

Omaha-8:

Marcel Luske was involved in a four-way pot preflop which included Marco Traniello. On a flop of {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {5-Hearts}, Traniello bet and Luske raised. Traniello made the call.

On a turn of {K-Hearts}, Traniello check-called a bet from Luske.

The river card was the {Q-Clubs} and this time Traniello check-folded a bet from Luske.

Luske flipped over {A-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} and said, "I missed my low." He then flipped over his other two cards, which were the {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. Luske smiled as he raked the pot.

Luske is now up to 33,000 in chips.
