Klaser Cruising On Top

Vladimir Poleshchuk raised to 6,000 preflop from the small blind and Martin Klaser called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {2-Clubs} and Poleshchuk bet 12,000. Klaser raised to 36,000 and Poleshchuk called all in.

Klaser: {6-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}
Poleshchuk: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {2-Hearts}

The turn came the {4-Spades} and the river the {9-Spades} giving Klaser the scoop. It took Poleshchuk a minute or two to realize he was eliminated and that the pot was not chopped.

Klaser is now up to 170,000.

Pace Continues

What was a lightning fast day yesterday does not appear to be repeating itself thus far this afternoon. Once the money has been reached in a tournament, play typically goes faster until we approach the remaining few who have a good shot at making the final table.

But that is not the case here in the Brasilia room, where bustouts tend to be an occasional thing. We've lost more than twenty players in the first two levels of play and we still have quite a ways to go before reaching the final nine.

Haddad Moves Into First

Joseph Haddad eliminated Damon Singer after getting all their chips in the middle preflop. Haddad held A-A-6-8 while Singer sat with A-2-3-8. The board paired on the turn, which kept Haddad's pocket aces in for two-pair. After the hand, Haddad is up to 122,000 and is our new chip leader.

Of interesting note, he's also the first player to break 100,000.

Sam Khouiss Eliminates Daniel Bertelsen

Sam Khouiss called a preflop raise from Daniel Bertelsen and saw a flop of {9-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}. Both Sam and Daniel got their money in the middle on the flop, with Sam holding {A-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {8-Hearts} for top pair and nut flush draw. Sam connected on the turn when the {4-Clubs} hit and Daniel bricked on the river.
