Sigi Takes a Hit

Sigi Stockinger took a hit to his chip stack after running A-2-2-6 into Mark Gallo's A-A-6-6. The board ran high, with Gallo spiking a six on the turn to make a set.

Sigi is down to just 8,000 after the hand.

Sam Takes a Quarter

Sam Khouiss recently butted heads with Joseph Haddad on a flop of {4-Spades} {6-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}. Sam held {A-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {K-Spades} for the nut low draw and three of a kind. Haddad held {A-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {5-Spades} {7-Diamonds} for the same nut low.

Sam appeared to have the better end of the hand, with Haddad looking at getting quartered. Unfortunately for Sam, the turn was the {3-Spades}, giving Haddad a straight.

Haddad took three quarters with his straight and nut low while Sam's nut low netted him the remaining quarter.

Bosek Sent to the Rail

From the cutoff, a player raised to 9,000. John Bosek reraised all in from the small blind for 23,500. The player made the call.

Unknown Player: {Q-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} {3-Spades}
Bosek: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}

The flop came {Q-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. The turn came the {Q-Diamonds} and the river the {10-Diamonds}. Three queens were good enough to send Bosek to the rail.

The player in this hand wished to remain nameless.

Would You Be So Kind?

Annie Duke just arrived to visit her friend Erik Seidel. She laid out several patches/stickers for her upcoming Ante Up For Africa tournament and asked Seidel if he "would be so kind" as to help promote the event.

Seidel, jokingly, took each of the four or five stickers and held them up to his chest as if to plaster himself with the promotional material. He laughed, took them down, and now has them in front of him on the table edge.

Lance Jenkins Eliminated

Lance Jenkins was in need of a three as he was all in preflop against William Speir on a flop of {2-Clubs} {A-Spades} {4-Spades}.

Lance held A-J-5-2 for two pair and Speir held A-3-2-7 for the same two pair. Speir spiked a seven on the turn for a better two pair, and then managed to hit a five on the river for a wheel.

Pose

It's always been said that one of the great things about poker is that anyone with the right amount of money can sit down and play with the best in the world. The WSOP makes that fact even truer than before with the wide range of buy-ins available.

Ian Graham just asked Joe Hachem if he could have a picture with him. Graham mentioned that he has played plenty of poker, but never with someone as famous as Joe Hachem. Hachem smiled in delight but we are unsure if the picture was ever actually taken.

Final Four

We're down to just four tables here in the Brasilia room. We have thirty six players remaining and we'll do a redraw once we reached our final twenty-seven players. We're only playing to the final table of nine, so once the redraw hits, we'll only be eliminating eighteen more before calling it a day.

Klaser Continues Elimination Streak

Martin Klaser eliminated yet another player after he had raised preflop to 8000 and was called by Berry Johnston and Mark Gallo. The flop ran {3-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} and Klaser bet the pot. It was enough to cover Johnston, who called, while Gallo dropped out.

Klaser showed {A-Clubs} {4-Spades} {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} for a pair of tens and second nut low draw while Johnston held {A-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {3-Clubs} for a pair of threes and the nut low draw. The turn and river brought running nines, keeping Klasers' pair of tens on top and eliminating Johnston. Klaser is now up over 220,000.

Hachem Loses One

Joe Hachem called the 8,000 all in shove from Mikhail Ustinov from the big blind. Hachem held {A-Hearts} {J-Spades} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Ustinov held {A-Spades} {8-Spades} {7-Clubs} {3-Clubs}.

The board ran out {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {A-Clubs} and Ustinov won the high with a straight and the low with an eight-seven low.

Hachem said afterwards, "I lose with the best hand every time."
