Sands Could Fill a Beach

David Sands is absolutely on fire -- he's knocked out another player and is up to 39,000.

A flurry of preflop raising led to our soon-to-be-busted player getting all his chips in preflop with Sands and another opponent looking at a {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {2-Hearts} flop. Sands' opponent check-called all the way down the flop, the {8-Clubs} turn and the {K-Hearts} river and then flipped over {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} for top two -- but Sands had flopped the set with pocket {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} and took the pot. The hapless all-inner mucked and left.

Webb Getting Desperate

Maria Ho raised from the cutoff and on the button Daniel Webb re-popped; she called.

Ho check-called the {6-Hearts} {9-Spades} {J-Clubs} flop and then bet out on the {Q-Clubs} turn. Both players checked the {2-Diamonds} river, and Ho's {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} had binked just enough to beat Webb's {A-?} {K-?}.

Ho: 19,000
Webb: a very precarious 3,000

Hellmuth Flushes

Phil Hellmuth, looking curiously younger than usual today without his baseball cap and shades, is up to 22,000 after calling all the way down the {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {K-Clubs} board with {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs}. His opponent flipped over ahead-til-the-river pocket {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}, and the pot belonged to Hellmuth.

Iceman Fancies His Chances

Iceman - no.1
Iceman - no.1
Teddy "Iceman" Monroe is seated at the same table as chip leader David Sands and is concerned.

"You have too many chips," he told Sands. And then a warning: "You're messing with the number one live limit player in the world."
