Eskeland Finds a Straight on the River

Hold'em

Randy Ohel and Sigurd Eskeland recently managed to get a hefty sized pot started on the bubble. We caught up with the action on the flop of {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} when Ohel had called Eskeland's bet.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Eskeland bet and called a raise from Ohel to get us to the {5-Clubs} river. Eskeland led out with one more bet and Ohel thought for a minute before calling.

We didn't get to see Ohel's cards, as they were mucked when he saw Eskeland's {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Players are just a few busts away from the money but will have to wait at least twenty-minutes before the bubble bursts.

Yu's Doing Better

No-Limit Hold'em

Ben Yu didn't have a ton of chips when he called Alex Kamberis's all-in shove preflop.

Kamberis: {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Yu: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Kamberis needed to improve if he were to have another shot at making the money, but despite picking up a sweat on the turn, he was unable to as the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

Yu is now up to 45,000 chips as we get closer to the money.

Parker Gone

2-7 Triple Draw

Brock Parker was all in against Yueqi Zhu in a hand of triple draw where Parker drew one card on each drawing street. Zhu stood pat on each street. Zhu held a {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and Parker paired. Parker was eliminated on the hand while Zhu moved back to 40,000 in chips.

Yu Flushes Parker

Pot-Limit Omaha

On the flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, Ben Yu and Brock Parker both checked.. After the turn brought the {J-Diamonds}, Yu check-called a bet of 5,400 from Parker.

The river completed the board with the {K-Clubs} and Yu check-called a bet of 11,500 from Parker this time. Yu then tabled the {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a club flush and Parker mucked, dropping down to just 3,000 in chips. Yu moved up to 55,000.

Between a Brock and a Hard Place

Brock Parker was short on chips when he went all in preflop from middle position, getting called by Kirk Morrison.

Parker: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Morrison: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Parker fell way behind on the flop when it came down {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and got no help on the {9-Diamonds} on the turn. But when the {3-Diamonds} came on the river Parker found his set and doubled himself up to 30,000.

Cantu Way Down

Pot-Limit Omaha

A monster PLO pot recently occurred between Alexey Makarov and Brandon Cantu which saw Cantu stumble down in the chip rankings with Makarov shooting upwards.

Makarov had checked on a board of {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Spades} when Cantu bet 21,000. Makarov countered by going all in for 48,000 total and Cantu made the call.

Cantu: {2-}{3-}{5-}{6-}
Makarov: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Cantu was ahead with a straight, but Makarov was drawing to a higher straight and a flush. He found the flush with the {3-Hearts} on the river leading an expletive to be shout across the room.
