Slaght: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Mizrachi Loses a Pile to Brunson

2-7 Triple Draw

A while back we posted a hand where Todd Brunson lost some chips to Michael Mizrachi in a big 2-7 hand. This time it was Brunson's turn.

Brunson had called Mizrachi's raise before the first draw with Mizrachi drawing one card and Brunson taking two. Mizrachi bet again before the second draw and Brunson called with each of them drawing a single card.

Mizrachi continued to lead the betting with Brunson calling and both players standing pat. As you might have guessed, Mizrachi bet after the draws were over and Brunson called.

Mizrachi: {2-}{5-}{6-}{7-}{8-}
Brunson: {2-}{4-}{6-}{7-}{8-}

Brunson managed to come out with the better hand and is now at 32,000 while Mizrachi is down to 66,000.

Kassela Climbing

2-7 Triple Draw

David Steicke, Andrew Robl and Frank Kassela all went to the first draw. Steicke was up first and drew one. Robl was next and drew two and then Kassela was last and selected to toss away just one. After the draw, action checked to Kassela and he fired a bet with both his opponents making the call.

For the second draw, Steicke drew one again and Robl drew two, both the same as they took the first time around. Kassela stood pat. Action checked to Kassela after the draw and he bet. Only Steicke made the call this time.

Steicke drew one on the final draw and Kassela stood pat again. Both players then checked.

Kassela tabled a {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and Steicke announced that he broke a ten with the {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, His last draw gave him a {J-} and it failed to beat the nine of Kassela. He dropped back to 109,000, but still looks to be the biggest stack in the room. Kassela moved up to 39,000 in chips.

Lord Has Way With Morrison

Pot-Limit Omaha

Kristan Lord made an under the gun raise to 2,000 and got called by Kirk Morrison in the cutoff, Dario Minieri in the small blind and Alex Kamberis in the big blind.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts} and the blinds both checked to Lord who bet 4,000 into the pot. Morrison was the only caller with both blinds folding.

When the {a-Hearts} came on the turn Morrison bet out once more, this time for 8,000, leading Morrison to fold.

When all was said and done, Lord was up to 47,000 while Williamson slipped to 33,000.

Steve Vs. Steve

2-7 Triple Draw

Steve Billirakis kicked this hand off with a raise and was called by Steve Sung as well as an unidentified player we'll call Player 3. After the first round of action, Billirakis and Sung each drew two cards while Player 3 drew one.

On the second round of betting Sung checked, Billirakis bet, Player 3 raised, Sung called, Billirakis re-raised and both Player 3 and Sung called. Got it?

Billirakis stood pat while Sung and Player 3 each drew a single card. After the second draw was done, Billirakis bet, Player 3 folded and Sung called.

Things got interesting on the final draw when Billirakis decided to draw a card after standing pat during the second draw and exposed an {8-} that he was discarding. Sung stayed pat and both players checked.

Sung showed {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and Billirakis mucked.

Aces for Degreef

Limit Hold'em

Kristan Lord raised from the cutoff seat and Jeremiah Degreef reraised from the big blind. Lord made the call and the two went to a flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Degreef fired a bet and Lord called. The turn added the {J-Diamonds} to the board and both players checked. The river completed the board with the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked again.

Degreef tabled the {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Lord showed the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Degreef won the pot and improved to 55,000 in chips while Lord slipped back to 32,500.

Robl and Steike Chop

2-7 Triple Draw

There was a flurry of first round betting when David Steike raised, Michael Chow re-raised and Andrew Robl called. Steike then four-bet with both Chow and Robl coming along for the draw.

All three players drew one card which was followed by a check from Robl and a bet from Steike. Chow raised and Robl called before Steike re-raised. Chow then folded and Robl made one more call.

Steike stood pat and Robl drew one card. Robl checked and Steike bet with Robl taking quite a while to call.

Robl again drew one card while Steike continued to stand pat. Once more Robl checked to Steike, who bet, with Robl tanking for some time before calling.

Both players showed a {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for a chopped pot, but managed to get away with some of Chow's chips.

Seiver and Gorodetskiy Chop One Up

Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Omaha-8

Scott Seiver raised from the button and Ilya Gorodetskiy called from the small blind. The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Gorodetskiy led out with a bet. Seiver made the call.

The turn was the {J-Hearts} and Gorodetskiy bet again. Seiver called once more before the final card was dealt the {2-Spades}. Gorodetskiy checked and Seiver bet. Gorodetskiy made the call.

Gorodetskiy held the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Seiver the {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Gorodetskiy had the low and Seiver the high making for a chopped pot. Seiver is still on 122,000 in chips, which looks to be the chip leader of the tournament, while Gorodetskiy is on 15,000.
