Annie Duke open-shoved for 33,000 from early position. One hand after doubling with aces, Barry Greenstein was feeling wealthy. He reshipped from the cutoff. Jen Harman spent a minute calculating whether it was worth a shot at doubling or not, but she decided to give up her small blind and save her few thousand chips for a better spot. Howard Lederer folded the big blind, and it was time for showdown.
Duke: 
Greenstein: 
Duke was in good shape, and the 
flop meant she didn't have to worry about Barry's club draw. The crowd applauded the 
turn card that gave Annie a flush draw and took away one of Greenstein's three outs. He was down to two on the river, and the audience had all but guaranteed Duke the double up in their minds. Sometimes you feel a river like a swift kick in the gut. And the fan reaction to the 
as it fell made it clear they felt it.
Duke got a hug from her brother as she left the table, and Joe Reitman was on the rail waiting to lend his support. Greenstein smiled for the first time all day as he stacked his nearly 130,000 in chips, but he stopped to join in as the stands gave Duke one last round of applause.
Greenstein Doubles Through
Barry Greenstein button-raised to 7,500 - as you might do with a wide range - only for Jennifer Harman to move all in from the small blind.
Greenstein called quicker than a cheetah on roller skates before turning over 
. Harman could only muster

After the obligatory TV pause, the dealer rolled out a 
flop. Although a five of clubs would have been fun, the 
turn was anything but, and a 
river later Greenstein had doubled through.
Greenstein now has 87,000, whilst Harman is down to a bowl of rice.
More Check-Folding for Negreanu
Johnny Chan raised to 6,000 from the button, and Daniel Negreanu flatted in the small blind. Barry Greenstein folded his big blind, and they went heads up to a 
flop. The action proceeded exactly like the last time Negreanu was heads up from the small blind with Chan. Both players checked the flop. Negreanu checked again after the turn, and Chan bet 12,000. Just like last time, Negreanu flatted. He checked once more when the 
fell on the river. Chan bet 25,000, and Negreanu muttered to himself before shrugging his shoulders and folding his hand. Negreanu started the level with 210,000, but he's down to 135,000 45 minutes later.
Seed Sees a Flop
Huck Seed raised to 8,000, and Daniel Negreanu defended his big blind, meaning Seed would get to see one of his first flops since they moved to the ESPN stage. It came out 
, and Negreanu checked to Seed. He c-bet 13,000, and Negreanu let him take the pot.
Eight Remain
Not too much happening at the moment. Howard Lederer moved all in from the button to pick up the blinds, and Daniel c-bet a flop against Johnny Chan, but, overall, we're witnessing very little in the way of action. Eight players remain.
Hachem Muscles Harman
Joe Hachem raised to 8,000 preflop, and from the small blind, Jen Harman reraised to 18,000. Hachem froze in thought for a few silent minutes before announcing he was all in. A call would put Harman at risk of elimination, and it didn't take her very long to decide it wasn't a risk she wanted to take. Harman folded, and Hachem added to his stack.
Happy as Barry
The action folded around to Barry Greenstein who raised to 7,500 on the button. Jennifer Harman defended her big blind, but check-folded to a bet of 10,000 on the 
.
Chan Knocks Negreanu Down a Peg
Johnny Chan raised to 6,000 on the button, and Daniel Negreanu bumped it up to 20,000 from the small blind. Barry Greenstein quickly folded his big blind, and Chan called the extra 14,000.
Flop: 
- Negreanu checked, and Chan checked behind.
Turn: - Negreanu checked again, this time, Chan fired 30,000. Negreanu checked his cards again and made the call.
River: 
- Negreanu checked a third street. Chan grabbed a handful of pink chips and tossed them in for a bet of 60,000. Negreanu spent a few minutes talking through the hand. He said it was silly since Chan probably had spades, but he convinced himself to fold. Negreanu dropped to 160,000 while Chan chipped up to 200,000, taking over the chip lead.
Chan Applies the Pressure
Joe Hachem raised it up preflop to 8,000 from the button, only to be three-bet to 22,000 by Johnny Chan in the small blind. Hachem made the call, but folded to a continuation bet from Chan on the flop.
