Pilgrim Talks His Way into a Call

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

We caught up with the action on a board reading {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and Dwyte Pilgrim led out for 4,300 from early position. His only opponent in the big blind fell into the tank, which led to some table chat from the ever-talkative Pilgrim.

"Gotta full-house?" Pilgrim asked.

"Is that what it takes?" his opponent answered.

"...No."

The two continued to chat about possible holdings until Andrew Frankenberger interrupted, "I enjoy this as much as you guys but lets play some poker," and he called the clock.

Pilgrim's opponent flung in a call and Pilgrim tabled {K-}{K-}. His opponent mucked.

Pilgrim is up to 22,000.

Hinkle Halted by Alaei

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With a raise to 700, Blair Hinkle made the call from the hi-jack as Daniel Alaei smooth-called from the small blind to see a {9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop fall.

The preflop raiser fired out 300 and Hinkle made the call before Alaei check-raised to 2,100. The original aggressor passed, but Hinkle made the call as the {K-Spades} landed on the turn.

Alaei pushed out a 3,600-chip bet with Hinkle calling as the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river. Taking his allotted time, Alaei moved all in for 12,225, and after two minutes of consideration, Hinkle made the call for roughly his last 10,000.

Alaei tabled his {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a full house to knock Hinkle out while simultaneously moving to 37,000 in chips.

Hall Misses Value?

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Galen Hall opened to 450 from early position and found one caller in the big blind.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the big blind checked, prompting a 450 c-bet from Hall. His opponent called.

Both players checked down on the {5-Hearts} turn and once again on the {8-Clubs} river.

Hall: {A-}{Q-}
Opponent: {A-}{J-}

Hall scooped the pot with a better ace-high and another player at the table said to Hall, "Nice value bet...donk."

"I know, I know," Hall replied.

Hall is currently sitting with 19,500.
