Ivey Here to Win

Limit Hold'em

Phil Ivey was just eliminated from Event: 32 $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. and casually left the final table arena and took his seat here in Event 35.

It didn't take long for him to get involved in a pot, finding him raising it up in a pot preflop from early position. The table folded around to the small blind who three-bet. Ivey called and both players were allowed to see the flop.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and it was here that the small blind continued with a bet and Ivey raised. The small blind made the call.

The {k-Clubs} on the turn allowed for the small blind to move all in. Ivey threw out the call and cards were tabled.

Ivey: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Small Blind: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Ivey held the advantage with a full-house, sevens over fours while his opponent possessed two-pair, kings and fours. If Ivey could avoid a king on the river he would win a nice pot and deliver a knock-out. Indeed a {9-} did fall and Ivey scooped the chips.

Dempsey Crushing

No-Limit Hold'em

Noah Schwartz had opened with a raise and James Dempsey reraised from late position. The big blind put in a cold four-bet, which knocked Schwartz out of the way. Dempsey went all in and his opponent called.

Dempsey tabled the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for the mother of all hands against his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The board ran out {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Dempsey busted the player to move to 48,000 in chips.

To give you a bit of info on Dempsey, he is a World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner from 2010 when he won the $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em for just under $200,000. The largest single score of his career came from a victory at the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic where Dempsey won over $820,000 for first place. That was in December of 2011.

Haxton

No Limit Hold'em

The board read {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Isaac Haxton in the big blind checked to his opponent, Chris Klodnicki. Klodnicki bet out 400, and Haxton called coming along for the ride.

The {q-Spades} on the turn saw both players check their options. The {5-Clubs} on the river brought Haxton coming out firing for 1,350 causeing Klodnicki to go deep into the tank. After a minute or so passed Klodnicki threw it away and Haxton was award the pot.

Kings are Good

No Limit Hold'em

Matt Glantz raised it up and action folded around to a short stack who moved in for about 3,500. The table folded back to Glantz and he hesitantly made the call.

Glantz: {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The board came {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the short stack received his double up.
