Brian Rast just scooped in a huge pot and is now among the chip leaders.
We caught up with the action on a flop, where Rast's lone opponent check-called a 3,700 bet from Rast.
When a came on the turn, Rast's opponent would again check-call - this time for 8,000.
A landed the river and Rast's opponent checked a final time. Rast mulled it over and went all in for over 30,000 - sending his opponent into the tank. He eventually called and Rast flipped over for a full-house. His opponent couldn't best it and mucked without showing.
We recently watched Mike Matusow play a hand that wasn't to eventful. Matusow opened the pot when folded to him in the cutoff and the player in the big blind defended. The two players then checked down a board and Matusow took down the pot when he turned over for ace-high.
Like we said, not too eventful, but luckily Matusow is an entertainer. Sitting behind Matusow is Scott Seiver and the two have been niggling at eachother in good fun throughout the day. At one point earlier, the dealer said, "i think people would just pay Scott to get under your skin all day." At this point Matusow got to his feet and put his arm around Scott and told the table that Scott could never really get under his skin.
At this point in the tournament both of these players have made the cash and survive with healthy stacks.
On the very first deal of hand-for-hand play, we have reached the money. We were unfortunately unable to catch the exact last bustout due to the sheer number of tables and players remaining.
Just as we noticed Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger was exiting the tournament area, we also overhead one of the tournament staff say we are five eliminations off the bubble. Oh, so close for Lichtenberger.
We arrived at Kyle Cartwright's table just in time to see him left crippled. In the hand in question, Cartwright and a player with a similar sized stack got it all-in preflop. It was unknown whose tournament life was at risk as the two players turned their hole cards over.
Cartwright:
Opponent:
When the rolled off on the felt, Cartwright would surrender the majority of his stack to his opponent. Cartwright needs to do a lot of work to make the cash now.
