Boat For Brenes

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Humberto Brenes
Humberto Brenes

Humberto Brenes raised to 450 from under the gun and found calls from the players in both the small and big blinds. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and all three players checked to see the {2-Clubs} fall on the turn. Action checked over to Brenes and he fired out a bet of 700. The small blind called and the big blind let his cards go, leaving the two heads up to the river.

The dealer put out the {3-Clubs} on the river and the small blind led into the middle for 2,500. Brenes came over the top with a raise to 6,200 and his opponent called, rolling over {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the wheel. Brenes had that beat, though, and triumphantly showed down {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for tens full of deuces. Brenes was awarded the pot and now has about 19,800 in chips.

Weisner Takes Some

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Picking up with the action on the flop of {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Melanie Weisner and and opponent were heads up in a raised pot. Weisner's opponent checked and she tapped the table back, signifying a check. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and the action once again went check-check, allowing the {9-Hearts} to complete the board.

Weisner's opponent fired 2,000 and she tossed out a call. Weisner's opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} for ace-king high which was no good against Weisner's {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a pair of deuces. Weisner was pushed the pot and now sits on about 9,700 in chips.

Katz Climbing

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

The player under the gun opened to 400 and Cary Katz called from the cutoff. Nam Le tagged along from the big blind and the trio of players were off to the flop.

The dealer fanned {Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} and Le checked. The original raiser led for 650, Katz called, and Le let his hand go. The {A-Spades} hit the turn and prompted two checks. The {K-Spades} completed the board on the river and the original raiser checked over to Katz. He fired a bet of 1,000 and his opponent quickly released. Katz was awarded the pot and now has around 12,300 in chips.
