Hearts For Song

Level 11

Limit Hold'em

Nicholas Kost raised from under the gun and found calls from Kevin Song in late position and Ben Yu in the big blind. The flop came down {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Yu checked. Kost continued out, Song called, and Yu let his hand go. The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and Kost fired another bet. This time, however, Song came over the top with a raise. Kost called to see a river.

The river was the {7-Hearts} and Kost checked. Song fired one last bet and Kost called. Song rolled over {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a flush, prompting Kost to muck his hand. Song raked in the pot and now has about 55,000 in chips.

Israelashvili's Bluff Fails

Level 12

Limit Hold'em

On a {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop Kevin Iacofano checked, Zimnan Ziyard bet and Roland Israelashvili raised it up. Iacofano folded right away and Ziyard called.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} hit and Ziyard lead out, Israelashvili called. On the river the {J-Spades} hit and Ziyard check-called a bet again.

"I give up," Israelashvili said as he quickly mucked his cards. Ziyard tabled {10-Clubs}{7-Spades} and he took down this pot.

Ivey Rivers Trips

Level 11

Limit Hold'em

The completed board read {5-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Randy Ohel and Phil Ivey were in a battle of the blinds. Ohel fired out a bet and Ivey came over the top with a raise. Ohel thought for about 15 seconds before dropping out a call.

Ivey rolled over {J-Spades}{10-Hearts} for trip jacks and Ohel mucked his hand. Ivey picked up the pot and his stack now sits at about 68,000.

Aces vs. Kings vs. Ace-King

Level 12

Limit Hold'em

Richard Sklar leaned back in his chair to tell our reporter about a hand that just went down on his table. The hand history wasn't overly detailed, but Sklar was able to get most of the key points across. The main thing was that three big hands clashed in a round of limit hold'em.

The three players were Sklar, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi. Sklar had ace-king, Grospellier had pocket kings, and Mizrachi held pocket aces. The action was capped preflop, and then there was lots of betting on the flop, turn, and river. Mizrachi's aces held up, and he was able to scoop a large pot and moved up to 122,000 in chips.

"That's how lucky this guy is!" exclaimed Sklar after telling the story of the hand, pointing to Mizrachi with a smile. "That's how lucky he is to get aces in that spot!"

"Yeah, but I wish it was no-limit hold'em!" yelled back Mizrachi.

Sklar was knocked back a little to 78,000, and Grospellier dropped to 38,000. Below are the rest of the counts from the table.

Heimiller Takes One

Level 12

Omaha 8

Dan Heimiller, straight off of his victory in Event #17: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship, is right back to the felt and looking to build his stack in today's event. When we found Heimiller, he called an under-the-gun open from Daniel Negreanu. Action folded around to Cory Zeidman and he tossed out a call as well.

The trio took a flop of {J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Hearts} and there were two checks over to Heimiller. He led out, Zeidman called, and Negreanu folded. Fourth street brought down the {8-Diamonds} and Zeidman checked for a second time. Heimiller bet out again and once again received a call. The {5-Clubs} completed the board and Zeidman check-called one final bet.

Heimiller showed {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for queens full of eights. Zeidman mucked his hand and Heimiller was pushed the pot. The winner of the largest Seniors Championship in WSOP history is now sitting on about 36,000 in chips.

Barbaro Flushes Matusow

Level 12

Stud

Barbaro: {x-}{x-} / {A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} / {x-}
Matusow: {x-}{x-} / {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {x-}

Yehuda Buchalter was the bring in and it folded around to Francesco Barbaro who completed. Mike Matusow called from the next seat over and it folded back to Buchalter who folded as well.

On fourth street, Barbaro continued his aggression with a bet and Matusow called. The same action occurred on fifth, sixth, and seventh street with Barbaro leading and Matusow calling. At the showdown, Barbaro rolled over {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a heart flush, prompting Matusow to muck his cards.

Barbaro picked up the pot and now has about 145,000 in chips. Matusow, on the other hand, has dropped to 60,000.

Watson Scoops Nguyen

Level 12

Stud 8

Nguyen: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} / {x-}
Watson: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} / {x-}

We picked up with the action on fifth street to see Mike Watson lead out with a bet and Don Nguyen come over the top with a raise. Watson called. Nguyen pulled a king on sixth street while Watson picked up a deuce. Watson checked and Nguyen knuckled the table back. The players took a look at their final cards and Watson tossed out one final bet. Nguyen called, but mucked his hand after seeing Watson's {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a straight and the scoop.

Watson is now sitting on about 135,000 in chips while Nguyen was crippled to just 5,000. He's since been eliminated from play.
