Cunningham Takes Another Dive

Further misery for Allen Cunningham -- he's now down to 6,500 after doubling up a young player at his table.

The last of the chips went in on the river of the {4-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {3-Spades} board, when we caught up with the action. Cunningham turned over {8-Clubs} {8-Spades} for, well pocket eights -- but his opponent was holding {10-Spades} {6-Clubs} for top pair. Cunningham doesn't look happy at all.

Dinner Time

Everyone is heading off for a 90 minute break to enjoy the best restaurants that London has to offer (high rollers), or the Burger King across the road (low rollers).

Back soon.

Ill-Timed Squeeze

James Akenhead
James Akenhead
With a raise of 800 and a flat call in front of him, James Akenhead increased the price of poker to 3,300. The initial raiser called, but the caller pushed all in for 10,350.

Both players called, perhaps somewhat reluctantly, before checking down a {5-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} board where the all in player took it down with {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The initial aggressor had {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}; Akenhead didn't show.

Also on this table:

Marco Traniello - 47,000
Max Pescatori - 43,000
Leonor Margets-Perez - 10,000

Docherty Up, Pavlicek Further Up

With around 15,000 in the pot by the river of the {8-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} board, the action checked to David Docherty, who bet 6,500. After a lengthy dwell, his opponent folded, and Docherty is up to 67,000.

By the by, not only does his table now feature big stack Jonathan Aguiar on 128,000, but it also features one Tommy Pavlicek. Pavlicek has been on that table all day, but his stack has only recently reached vast proportions. It was he who earlier knocked out Dario Minieri, and he seems to have only improved since then. On almost 140,000 in chips, he is in serious contention for the chip lead as we head towards the dinner break.

Griffin Doubles Through

In a sick degenerate versus sick degenerate encounter, Ashton Griffin found himself all in with his tournament on the line with {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} versus fellow online titan Sami Kelopuro's {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} board was bullet free, and Ashton doubled through to 50,000.

Demjan Having a Nice Day

Dan Shak was a-huffing and a-puffing after calling a 7,000 bet from Sandor Demjan -- only to discover that Demjan had rivered two pair to beat him.

Board: {10-?} {3-?} {2-?} {4-?} {Q-?}

Shak: {K-?} {10-?}
Demjan: {Q-?} {3-?}

"Is there an award for the sickest player?" asked voluble tablemate and Irish Open final tabler Andy Bradshaw -- it seems that Mr. Demjan has been a bit of a card rack today and is now up to 95,000. "Get us a rope and there'll be eight players hanging themselves. Hey James," Bradshaw continued at November Niner James Akenhead over at the next table, "Rub his shoulders before you go to Vegas."

Shak, by the by, is down to 17,000 after that.
