Puchkov Takes Some From Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth made it 1,300 from under the gun and his lone caller was Konstantin Puchkov from middle position.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Hellmuth continued for 1,700. Puchkov called.

"How much ya got there, buddy?" said Hellmuth as he glanced at Puchkov's stack.

The turn was the {K-Hearts} and both players checked. The {10-Spades} came on the river and Hellmuth checked again. Puchkov flicked out one t1,000 chip and Hellmuth called.

Puchkov showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Hellmuth mucked.

Despite losing this hand Hellmuth is still above starting stack as he has been quite active at his table since the moment he sat down.

Quick Exit For Tony G

Tony G
Tony G

We just saw Tony G exit the tournament area, and Bryn Kenney explained to us what happened. A player raised to 1,600 after which Tony G moved all in from the big blind for around 13,000. The initial raiser called with {10-}{10-}, and Tony G was in big trouble with {9-}{9-}.

The board did not change the outcome of the hand, and Tony G was eliminated quickly.

Rousso Folds a Straight

With 12,000 in the pot and a board reading {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, it appeared Vanessa Rousso checked from the big blind and Timothy Adams bet 6,200 from middle position, though it is possible the dealer might have pulled in a bet and Adams' chips constituted a raise.

Either way, Rousso opted to fold but not before showing the {6-Clubs}, which gave her a nine-high straight. Rousso pleaded for Adams to show his hand, but she only managed to get him to reveal one card... {J-Clubs}.

Chips For The Magician

On a {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board, a player checked to Antonio Esfandiari who bet out 1,650. Esfandiari's opponent raised to 4,000 and The Magician let out a sigh before calling.

The {A-Hearts} turned and both players tapped the table. The board finished with the {Q-Clubs} and it was checked to Esfandiari again. He moved 5,300 into the middle and his opponent folded his hand, showing the {7-Hearts}.

Esfandiari is now sitting on about 60,000 in chips.
