From One Tournament to the Next

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Kenny Hallaert and Martin Kabrhel started today in the €111,111 One Drop with ten left. They are both now taking their seats in Day 1b of the Main Event.

Hallaert entered the day as the short stack and finished in tenth place for €295,131. This was the highest buy in tournament of Hallaert's career and he now steps into his wheelhouse — large field No-Limit Hold'em tournaments. He has two six-figure live scores since he finished sixth in the WSOP Main Event and has earned over $500,000 of his $3,310,209 in live tournament earnings in a little more than a year since.

Kabrhel just finished eighth in the One Drop for €366,762 and won his first WSOP gold bracelet during this WSOP Europe. He won the € 1,100 No Limit Hold'em - Super Turbo Bounty for € 53,557. Kabrhel is notorious for table talk and tanking, so it will be interesting to see how his table reacts to him throughout the day.

Ho Gets Respect

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Maria Ho had 7,000 in front of her and the small blind called that bet. Patrik Antonius was debating whether to continue on the {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop with 2,100 in front of him. He folded.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and the small blind checked. Ho bet 7,200 and the small blind folded showing a queen before he mucked.

Straight Flush for Christner

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Christian Christner, pictured in an earlier event.

Christian Christner (big blind) and David Keuftedjian (middle position) built a pot of about 25,000 on a board of {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}. After thinking for a minute, Christner shoved all in for 31,725. Keuftedjian got the count and called after about 90 seconds of thought.

Christner rolled over {7-Spades}{3-Spades} for a straight flush, leaving Keuftedjian shaking his head as he mucked {k-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Ramos Busted

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Felipe Ramos got his last 6,000 or so all in preflop and was at risk against two players. Eugene Katchalov was one and he bet 6,000 into a dry side pot from the big blind on a completed {9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs} board. A third player folded, and Katchalov showed {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Ramos mucked his {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and headed for the rail.
