Solano Doubles Through Kogel With Rockets

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Maury Solano opened under the gun for 2,000 and had one caller before Nate Kogel three-bet to 9,500 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to Solano who four-bet to 19,500 and only Kogel called to see the {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop.

Solano quickly moved all in for 44,400 and after getting the confirmed amount Kogel called.

Nate Kogel: {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Maury Solano: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Solano was ahead with his pocket aces and nothing changed after the {7-Spades} paired the board on the turn. Solano had a little sweat heading to the riveras Kogel held a gutshot straight draw but the {9-Diamonds} secured his double-up.

Big Double for Orson Young

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Orson Young
Orson Young

Orson Young raised to 2,000 from early position only to have the player in the hijack three-bet him to 6,000. Action folded back to Young and he called to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Young checked, the hijack continued for 7,000, and Young check-raised to 20,000. The player in the hijack paused for a few beats before reraising all in and Young called off for 67,300 total.

Orson Young: {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Young had flopped bottom two pair to pull ahead of his opponent's overpair, but there were still two cards to come.

Fortunately for Young, neither the {5-Diamonds} turn nor {2-Hearts} river hurt him and he doubled big into six-figure territory.

Jean-Robert Bellande
Jean-Robert Bellande

Late registration is open until the start of Level 9, and if it's one thing we've learned after the first two starting flights, it's that many players like to jump in post-dinner break.

That was the case of Jean-Robert Bellande, AKA JRB, who just bought in.

Bellande, a World Series of Poker bracelet winner, is known to poker fans for playing high stakes, but the Average Joe might know him from his appearance on the hit CBS television show Survivor: China.
