Cowboys<Ladies for Ben Mahmoud

Imed Ben Mahmoud got his last in good with {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} against Martin Staszko's {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}, but it was not meant to be.

Board: {8-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {4-Hearts} {J-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}

Ben Mahmoud is bust, while Staszko, who'd outchipped him by just 30,000, moves up to 600,000.

Levi and Schleger Swap Stacks

Shanic's duds
Shanic's duds
Nicolas Levi came in raising to 48,000 from middle position, and Shane Schleger shipped his last 209,000 into the middle. The action came back around to Levi, and he eyeballed the relative stack sizes, mumbling, "I guess it's a call."

After another moment of consideration, he did just that, his covering stack putting Shaniac at risk of elimination.

Showdown
Levi: {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}
Schleger: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

Aaaaaaand they're off! Schleger's horse shot out of the starting gate and into the lead, and Levi could not catch up on a board running {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. Shaniac finds his queen and his double up, and he's sitting with 457,000 now. That's actually 4,000 less than he should have due to the dealer miscounting his all in. Let that be a lesson to you, kids.

Levi is down to 190,000 and those binds are coming around awfully quick.

Stampede on Table 2

Alexia Portal raised to 45,000 from the cutoff. ElkY made it 111,000 in the small blind.

ZOMG!!! Portal and ElkY in the same hand!!! Run! Every member of the press in the entire country rushed to the action, but much to their sadness, Portal folded.

ElkY, never one to disappoint the media, showed the crowd two red aces.

Double Double for Ktorza

Down to his last 172,000, Philippe Ktorza got it in from the cutoff. Samuel Touil, who seems to have either limped or raised under the gun, made the call, and the cards were on their backs.

Ktorza: {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}
Touil: {7-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

Board: {9-Spades} {4-Spades} {J-Spades} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}

Ktorza duly doubled up.

---

Just a hand or two later, and Ktorza got it in again, this time up against the pocket tens of Shane Schleger. Ktorza? Pocket aces. A third ace came on the turn for good measure, and in just moments Ktorza had gone from desperation to 800,000 in chips.

Wait Up

We've come to the final break of the evening, and everyone's outta here for 15 minutes. When we get back, we'll play until the 75-minute timer runs out, or until the field shrinks to 24 players.

We Found the Internet Kids

Andras Nemeth
Andras Nemeth
Add a couple of monitors to table 3, and it might as well be the final table of the Sunday Million. Just listen to this hand, and you'll understand.

One hand after winning an unusual large pot from Jake Cody (Nemeth check-called all the way down with an overpair), Nemeth was feeling the momentum. Craig "HU4ROLLZ" opened to 35,000 from the hijack, and Nemeth reraised to 100,000 on the button.

The big blind tank folded angrily (the over 30 group at the table is getting annoyed with the crazy aggresssion), and it was back to Bergeron. He four-bet to 202,000, sliding out a towering stack of 40 5k chips.

Nemeth insta-clicked the ship button, and Bergeron was quite displeased. He eventually mucked, and Nemeth flashed {K-Spades} {10-Clubs} at him. You could almost see the chatbox explode.

The Other Touil

Shane "Shaniac" Schleger opened the pot to 40,000, and the other Touil (Samuel) moved all in next door for 226,000. Shaniac thought it over and asked for a full count, and he eventually made the call with his covering stack.

Showdown
Schleger: {A-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Touil: {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

The board ran out with little drama: {5-Clubs} {2-Spades} {3-Spades} {5-Spades} {Q-Hearts}. Schleger slips down to about 350,000 after shipping that double up to his next-door neighbor.

Touil Lets the World Know

Harry Touil got the remaining 227,000 of his chips into the pot before the flop, and Mike McDonald looked him up with his fortress of chips. With a pot of nearly a half-million chips up for grabs, the cards were shown down:

Touil: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}
McDonald: {A-Clubs} {9-Hearts}

The flop was a disaster for the at-risk Touil as it came out {9-Spades} {10-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. "Non!" he yelled at the top of his lungs, backing away from the table as if he'd just seen something gruesome. It was not over yet though. The {5-Spades} on the turn changed nothing, but a timely {J-Clubs} spiked the river, and Touil rallies from behind to make his straight and notch a big double up.

And the whole room heard about it. "Valet!!!" he yelled at he table. "Valetttttttt!" That's him celebrating the jack, in case your French is rusty.

And Then There Was One

Marine la Bernardie shipped her button with {K-?} {4-?} and ran into Jean Bernard Bot's {A-?} {K-?}. No help from the {10-?} {10-?} {6-?} {2-?} {10-?} board, and la Bernardie was off into the night. Well, actually, she stayed to do several interviews, but that's not really the point.

French pro Alexia Portal is fittingly the last woman standing here in Deauville. The last few levels she's been playing rather fearlessly and bullied her way to 710,000.
