Don't Say That!

First into the pot, Nicolo Calia open-shoved for just less than 100,000 total. When the decision came around to Samuel Touil, he re-raised and isolated himself against the at-risk Calia. When the rest of the table folded out of the way, it was showdown time:

Calia: {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}
Touil: {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}

"Allez, papa!" screamed Touil. Apparently that's French for "Hit a two-outer on me," and that's just what happened. The flop rolled out {A-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {9-Clubs}, and both Calia and Touil practically fell backwards in shock. The turn and river were blanks, {K-Diamonds} and {Q-Clubs} respectively, and Calia has picked up and unlikely double-up, drawing even with Touil after taking about a third of his chips.

Keeping it Friendly

Dario
Dario
We just witnessed an enjoyable exchange between Stephane Bazin and Dario Minieri. As far as the action goes, Bazin had opened the pot to 35,000, and Minieri put in a three-bet to 124,000. That sent Bazin into the tank and sparked a long back-and-forth between the two.

Minieri was chatting it up for a minute or so while Bazin was studying his every move. Finally, it hushed for a moment as Minieri said, "Oh my god, I'm not crazy. I won't give anymore talks."

"Thank you," said Bazin, smiling wryly.

It's hard to keep Minieri quiet though, and it wasn't long before Bazin drew some more chatter out of him. "Will you show your hand?" he asked Dario.

"I got in trouble once for answering that question," he replied. "So I can not answer." He then proceeded to answer. "Maybe if you show me both of your cards, I will show you one." Bazin smiled broadly. He would finally flip over the {Q-Hearts} and declare a fold. Bazin tried to induce a card from Dario, but he didn't budge.

"We made a deal," said Dario. "Two for one. You already showed me the queen, so now it's one for one." Bazin didn't want to show his other card despite that great deal. "One card for one random?" asked Dario. Bazin shook his head. "One card for one of my choice?" he tried again, bargaining like a used-car salesman. The head shaking continued. Bazin flipped his queen face-down again and slid them toward the muck. The dealer reached for Minieri's cards, but he stopped her to ask one more time. Bazin wouldn't agree, and everyone's cards finally went back to the dealer. The chatter wasn't done though.

"I think you have ace-queen," said Minieri. "It's the only hand that makes sense for you to think so long."

Bazin shook his head. "I didn't have ace-queen."

Minieri: "King-queen?!"
Bazin: "Something like that." After a pause, he added, "I think you had like fives, sixes, or sevens though."
Minieri: "It's in my range for sure."

The chatter continued as we walked away from the table, but we're happy they're getting on so well over there.

Fitoussi Decides It's Time

Bruno Fitoussi has refused to quit for two days now. No matter how short stacked he gets, he finds a way to stick around. We found him staring at a {Q-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} flop and contemplating a call for his tournament existence. Maxat Aibayev had moved all in for around 230,000, and Fitoussi had 191,000 left in his stack.

"It it time?" Fitoussi asked no one in particular. He peaked again at his hand. "I think it might be time. I call."

Showdown
Fitoussi: {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Aibayev: {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades}

Both had the same open-ended draw and neither held a heart, so Fitoussi's top pair was looking a bit like the nuts. The rest of the board was rather uninteresting:

Turn:{2-Spades}
River: {6-Hearts}

Fitoussi is now back in business with over 400k while Aibayev is on his last legs.

Last Longer Still Anyone's Game

Peter Eastgate check-called a sizable bet from George Secara on the turn of a {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} board, before both players checked the {9-Spades} river. Secara tabled {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} and presumably it was good as Eastgate quietly mucked.

Dario Minieri scurried over to let Eastgate know that he was sitting on 450,000 or so. After this hand, Eastgate is on around 630,000 - less than he had, but still more than Minieri...

Minieri Gets Mini-er

Three players in the hand and a {5-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {2-Hearts} flop on the table; Stephane Bazin open-shoved from the small blind position. Dario Minieri re-shipped, the third player in the hand got out of their way, and they were on their backs.

"Many outs," said Minieri as he flipped his hand.

"I know," said Bazin.

Bazin: {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}
Minieri: {K-Hearts} {8-Hearts}

Turn: {6-Clubs}

River: {4-Diamonds}

Minieri: "Oh."

He drops to 450,000.

Glo and Craig

During one of the last breaks, Gloria pulled Craig Bergeron aside for a little one-on-one chat. You may know him as "HU4ROLLZ", and there's a significant chance you may know him for making an EPT final table before this week is done. Bergeron has been up near the top of the board all day; check out what he had to say about his progress so far:
