Liddell Applies Maximum Pressure

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

James Liddell opened to 3,500 from under the gun and was called by a player on the button.

Liddell continued for 2,500 on the {j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop and was called by his opponent.

There was no slowing down for Liddell following the {k-Spades} turn as he pushed a heftier 7,500 into the middle. Again, the button player just called.

The {7-Hearts} river saw Liddell go for it all, announcing that he was all in. Barely had the words left his mouth before the button tossed their hand away to hand the pot to Liddell.

McKeehen Continues Ascent

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player opened to 2,500 from middle position before Joe McKeehen three-bet to 7,500 from the cutoff. The remaining players got out of the way to send the action back to the original raiser who made the call to see a flop.

The middle position player checked to McKeehen on a flop of {2-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and he continued for 3,000, enough to convince his opponent to release his holding and keep the former WSOP Main Event champion chipping up.

Gao Gets Value

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Shouyi Gao opened to 2,600 from the cutoff and received a single call from the big blind.

Both players checked on a flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} to see the {9-Diamonds} turn at which point they both checked once more. The {3-Diamonds} river completed the board and the big blind led out for 8,500. Gao responded by raising to 35,000, causing the big blind player to bemoan the fact that they had not bet or raised earlier in the hand. Eventually they did make the call but mucked once Gao showed {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the runner-runner flush.

Cowboys Good For Biberaj

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player opened to 2,500 from early position and was called by Besnik Biberaj in the cutoff as well as Darren Elias out of the small blind.

Action checked through the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop to the {2-Clubs} turn at which point Elias led out for 2,000. The middle position player responded by raising to 11,000 with Biberaj making the call. Elias got out of the way to send the two players heads-up to the river.

The middle position player checked to Biberaj following the {3-Diamonds} river and he fired off 15,000, a bet that was promptly called by his opponent. Biberaj showed down {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} which was good enough to scoop a sizable pot.

Eisenberg Bluff Goes Wrong

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player limped from early position and Lara Eisenberg raised to 3,500 on the button. The blinds got out of the way to send the action back to the limper who made the call.

The early position player checked to Eisenberg following the {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and then called her continuation of 2,500.

Both players checked through the {7-Spades} turn to see the {9-Diamonds} river at which point the early position player continued his passive line by checking for a third time. Eisenberg pondered for a moment before firing off 8,000. Her opponent quickly called and Eisenberg could only show {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a failed bluff while the early position player collected the pot holding {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}.

McKeehen Doubles Up

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player opened to 2,000 from middle position and was called by Joe McKeehen in the small blind as well as the big blind player.

All three players checked through the {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop to the {8-Spades} turn at which point McKeehen led out for 4,500, getting a call from the big blind and a fold from the middle position player.

McKeehen slowed down after the {5-Spades} river completed the board, checking to the big blind who bet out a hefty 17,000. After a few moments, McKeehen announced he was all in for 73,500. His opponent did not appear comfortable with the situation and seemed close to folding. Eventually, however, he did make the call with the covering stack but mucked after McKeehen tabled {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for a flopped full house.

Fikac Left Short

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Picking up the action on the flop, Robert Fikac in the small blind was involved in a hand with a player on the button. With the board reading {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} Fikac moved all in with the covering stack and his opponent quickly called.

Button Player: {j-Spades}{6-Spades}
Robert Fikac: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Fikac was ahead with his overpair but would need to fade spades, jacks and sixes to secure the pot. He was unable to do so after the {7-Spades} rolled off the deck on the turn to render the {a-Clubs} river inconsequential, leaving Fikac with just a few big blinds.
