2023 WSOP Schedule

The dates for the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) have been in your diary since December, but now get ready to plan your entire summer with the release of the full WSOP schedule.

A total of 95 bracelets — the most at a live WSOP in history — will be awarded over the course of seven weeks at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas Hotels & Casinos. In addition, there will be 20 bracelets awarded on WSOP.com in the merged network of New Jersey and Nevada, while the segregated markets of Pennsylvania and Michigan will each award seven bracelets.

The action gets underway on May 30 and runs through until July 18, 2023, on the Las Vegas Strip at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. Officials are doing what they can to ensure the $10,000 Main Event will be the biggest ever, including numerous satellite options, and if it is someone in the field will win a "Main Event for Life" drawing in which they will win a non-transferrable Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years!

Bigger and Better Across the Board

The 2023 WSOP builds on the momentum of a 2022 tournament that saw 197,626 entrants from more than 100 countries and a record-breaking $347.9 million total prize pool in its new home.

“With the momentum generated from the WSOP’s debut on the Las Vegas Strip last year, we expect a record-breaking WSOP and World Championship at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2023," said Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP. “If the Main Event is on your bucket list, this is the year to get to Vegas.”

2023 WSOP Starts With a Bang

As is tradition, Event #1: $500 Casino Employees kicks off the action on the first day of the WSOP, with the new Event #2: $25,000 High Roller also getting underway, offering players their first taste of big buy-in action at the Series.

Also getting underway is the first of four flights in Event #3: Mystery Millions. Although bounties don't start until Day 2, it will be all about making it to that stage to be in with a chance of scooping the massive $1,000,000 mystery bounty.

One of the biggest changes to the 2023 WSOP schedule sees Event #4: Tournament of Champions move from being the last bracelet event, to one of the first. It now kicks off on the second day of action, Wednesday May 31.

The first week also sees plenty of mixed game action, with traditional early-WSOP events like the $1,500 and $10,000 Dealer's Choice tournaments taking place.

Plenty of other mixed game events on offer early, including Event #9: $1,500 Seven Card Stud and Event #6: $5000 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em; Pot-Limit Omaha.

Interview: Vice President Jack Effel Looks Ahead to 2023 WSOP

New Events for 2023 include Big O and Badugi

In December, the WSOP announced at least two new events would form part of the 2023 scheduleEvent #18: Gladiators of Poker and Event #81: Ultra Stack — but it's now been confirmed that several other brand-new events for 2023.

Two disciplines receive their first-ever standalone events with Badugi and Big O making their standalone WSOP debuts. Both have been part of mixed events — Mixed Big Bet and Mixed Omaha respectively — but both will have $1,500 events for the first time as part of the 2023 schedule.

If you're not familiar with either variant — don't worry! Big O is most succinctly defined as five-card Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, whereas Badugi is a lowball draw variant, where you must make the best four-card poker hand with no duplicates in rank or suit.

Another new event is Event #83: $1,500 Short Deck. While a $10,000 buy-in Short Deck event was first introduced in 2019, and a €2,500 buy-in event has been on the WSOP Europe schedule every year since 2019, this is the first Short Deck tournament at this buy-in level at the WSOP in Las Vegas.

Two other mixed-game events will return after periods off of the WSOP schedule. First introduced in 2019, Event #80: $25,000 H.O.R.S.E returns after a brief hiatus in 2021, while Event #87: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo/Stud Hi-Lo is back having been in the schedule from 2011-2019.

2023 WSOP Main Event

Also confirmed is the full schedule for Event #76: 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event which gets underway on Monday, July 3, 2023.

The $10,000 buy-in showpiece of the WSOP will play down to a final table of nine players on Friday, July 14 before the traditional rest day on Saturday, July 15. The winner will then be crowned across two days of final table action on July 16 and 17.

Also, the WSOP hopes this year's Main Event is the biggest ever, and if it is, all entrants in the field will be placed into a drawing that awards a non-transferrable Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years. The "Main Event for Life" drawing will utilize each player’s Caesars Rewards number and would be held on Saturday, July 8.

2023 WSOP Satellites

Players looking for details of satellites to the 2023 WSOP, including satellites for events such as the Gladiators of Poker, Main Event or Poker Players Championships can click here for further information.

Here you will find a breakdown of all live satellites to the 2023 WSOP, including full details of Daily Mega Satellites and Speciality Mega Satellites.

After falling just short of the Main Event record in 2022, organizers have put together a vast new series of promotions under the theme of “Main Event Mania” to eclipse the record field set in 2006, including:

  • 600 Main Event Seats Guaranteed from GGPoker — The world’s biggest poker room and exclusive WSOP satellite partner GGPoker has stepped up to offer 500 guaranteed Main Event seats on GGPoker.com through international qualifiers and another 100 seats on the ClubGG.net subscription site. The 600 total seats or $6,000,000 in the prize pool represents an increase that more than doubles GGPoker’s official qualifiers from the 2022 series. Online satellites will begin in March.
  • Main Event Mania at Casinos Worldwide — 2023 will see the WSOP’s first-ever Global Qualification Weekend on May 20-21 at live poker rooms on five continents around the world. Just before the start of the WSOP in Las Vegas, poker rooms around the globe will join forces to offer Guaranteed Seat satellite tournaments to send players to the 2023 Main Event. Each poker room will offer a “step” tournament at a $140 buy-in and a culminating mega of $1,175 awarding a guaranteed seat and travel stipend to Las Vegas. Full local tournament schedules and locations will be posted at www.wsop.com/mainevent.

Additional hosts will be announced, but resorts already committed to hosting Main Event Mania the weekend of May 20-21 in the United States include Harrah’s Cherokee, Horseshoe Las Vegas, Horseshoe Tunica, Horseshoe St. Louis, Harrah’s Pompano, Turning Stone Casino, Hard Rock Tulsa, Grand Victoria Casino (Elgin, Ill.) and Horseshoe Council Bluffs. International partners, spanning four different continents, confirmed to host “Main Event Mania” include: King's Resort (Czech Republic), Club Pierre Charron Paris (France), Deerfoot Inn & Casino Calgary (Canada), Enjoy Punta del Este Resort and Casino (Uruguay), and Casino Es Saadi Marrakech (Morocco).

  • WSOP.COM’s 112 Seat Sprint — As the poker world descends upon Las Vegas, WSOP.COM becomes the best place to qualify for the 2023 Main Event. From June 25 to July 8, a whopping 112 Main Event seats will be guaranteed on WSOP Online. The sprint to the record will begin on Sunday, June 25 with 10 seats being guaranteed per day. The centerpiece $250,000 guarantee, 25 Seat Scramble highlights the festivities and will take place on Sunday, July 2. The effort culminates with a last-chance drawing for the final seat in the Main Event on Saturday, July 8. In addition, “All-In” satellites from $80 to $126 will run daily from June 25 to July 8 with no fees.

2023 WSOP Daily Deep Stack Tournaments

The ever-popular Daily Deep Stack tournaments are back for 2023 with three different buy-in levels for the daily No-Limit Hold'em Deep Stack tournaments. There are also HORSE, Ladies, and Seniors Deep Stack tournaments scheduled, so click here for full details of WSOP Daily Deep Stack tournaments.
