Daniel Negreanu's bracelet hunting didn't stop when the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas ended in July.
The Poker Hall of Famer took his shot on Wednesday at becoming the 10th player in history to win nine WSOP bracelets at the WSOP Online $25,000 High Roller Championship final table on GGPoker. But two brutal hands cost him the tournament.
Casimir Seire, on the other hand, won the bracelet and the $906,647 first-place prize.

Negreanu, who livestreamed the action on his YouTube channel, began the final table third in chips at around 60 big blinds. He'd build a monster stack following the first break with pocket queens when he took a massive pot from Parahat Nurmuhammedov, who had J♣7♣.
Nurmuhammedov check-raised the flop of 5♣6♥5♦ before pairing up on the J♦ turn. That card was deadly for him because it ended up costing him his entire stack, and it put Negreanu out in front with seven players remaining.
Negreanu, who won his eighth bracelet over the summer, ran into some bad luck that proved costly. He picked up A♥K♠ and had Ole Schemion all in with A♠Q♠ and Roman Emelyanov all in with 6♥6♦. But the board ran out A♣10♠Q♥9♥9♦, sending Emelyanov out in seventh place for $190,599, while Schemion moved up the chip counts and Negreanu fell to one of the smallest stacks.
Schemion, however, would soon bust in sixth place for $247,176, while Negreanu won a race to double. But with five players remaining, he was still just fourth in chips. Seire had taken over a big chip lead and was using that stack to bully the table. His opponents didn't have enough chips to do much about it.
Negreanu kept hanging around, and he ran well in races, including one instance in which he busted Pedro Neves in fifth place for $320,548. But the momentum faded, and so did his bracelet dreams, in a matter of one hand.
Seire, continuing to bully with 9♣8♦, put Negreanu all in for 27 big blinds and was in deep trouble when "DNegs" called with 10♦10♥. But a lucky board of A♦9♥6♣8♠K♣ gave Seire two pair, and ended Negreanu's bracelet run in fourth place for $415,699. Erwann Pecheux was eliminated in third place for $539,095 right after.
"That's it, guys, that was our chance to win the tournament," a disappointed Negreanu said after the hand.
Negreanu, following an 11-year drought, has won two bracelets in the past three years. But he won't add a third on this day, which would have been his first online bracelet. Seire and Fabiano Kovalski then went heads-up for the bracelet, with the former hitting quads to finish it off quickly.
