Mario Ramirez Padilla opened to 600 from under the gun and was called by Glen Betancourt Vivas on the button.
The dealer fanned a flop of J♣5♥7♦ and Ramirez Padilla continued for 700. He was called so he fired a second barrel to 1,600 on the 2♦ turn. Betancourt Vivas called again.
Ramirez Padilla bet 2,500 on the 6♠ river. Betancourt Vivas went into the tank but ultimately folded.
PokerNews caught the action on a board of K♣A♦10♣8♠ after Cesar Montanes Alonso on the button bet 3,600 and Bernard Darmon in the cutoff raised to 8,600. Montanes Alonso three-bet to 18,600 and Darmon quickly called.
Darmon checked the 7♥ river and Montanes Alonso moved all-in for 30,100. Darmon went into the tank for nearly four minutes and eventually made the call with a slightly smaller stack.
Montanes Alonso immediately flipped over Q♥J♦ for a flopped straight. Darmon first wanted to muck his hand but the dealer revealed his set with 8♥8♦ and he was eliminated.
With a slight delay, cards are in the air on Day 1a of the WSOPC Madrid Main Event.

The World Series of Poker Circuit tour across Europe continues from October 23 to November 2, with its first-ever stop in Spain.
At Casino Gran Vía in Madrid, 11 rings are up for grabs, and some have already found a home during the first days of the festival. Salvador Sala Garcia won the €300 WSOPC Mini Main Event for €48,200, followed by Nuno Duarte who took down the €550 WSOPC Senior Event for €14,800, while Jeremy Bennoun claimed a ring and €13,500 in the €500 WSOPC Knockout Event.
Enrico Campanile joined the list last night by winning the €550 WSOPC Mystery Bounty, which drew 622 entries. He earned €25,700, plus €10,500 in bounties and the $5,000 package to the next WSOP Paradise awarded to every ring winner.
Alongside these side events, the main action starts this Wednesday with Day 1a of the €1,500 Main Event, the first out of four starting flights. Less than a month ago, Italy’s Luca Topazio was crowned the latest European WSOPC Main Event champion in Malta, defeating a field of 879 entries to win €200,000.
