Sengphet Moves All In

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded all the way around to Brian Burney on the button and put in a standard raise. La Sengphet then moved all in from the big blind for 174,000, which Burney called.

Sengphet: {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Burney: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Sengphet was a dog but not after the flop came down {3-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. She was suddenly in the lead and looking to dodge an ace and queen. The {2-Hearts} turn was no danger, so it was down to the river. The dealer burned and slowly turned over the {6-Diamonds}. Sengphet survived and doubled to 379,000 while Burney took a small hit down to 890,000.

Action Slowing with Deeper Stacks

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Now that the remaining players have chipped up and have stacks compatible with the blinds, the action seems to have slowed up a bit. There is about 80 minutes left of play, so it ought to be close on whether or not we reach the final table tonight.

Two Hands Send Galey Packing

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Steve Galey- 14th place
Steve Galey- 14th place

Two hands led to the demise of Steve Galey. The first occurred when action folded to Kurt Jewell in the cutoff and he raised to 48,000. Galey called from the small blind and the two watched the flop come down {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. Galey led out for 150,000, Jewell moved all in for 426,000, and Galey called:

Jewell: {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Galey: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

Jewell had two overs but could hit neither as the board ran out {6-Clubs} and {10-Spades}. Jewell doubled on the hand to 890,000 while Galey dropped to just 85,000.

A short time later, Galey moved all in from the hijack for 68,000 with {9-Spades}{5-Spades} and was called bu the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} of Mark Kehrees in the cutoff. The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Kehrees chipped up to 410,000. Meanwhile, Galey was eliminated from the WSOPC Harrah's Tunica Main Event in 14th place.

Holley Crack Pocket Rockets

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

John Holley raised to 45,000 from middle position and was met with a raise to 135,000 from Matthew Lawrence in the big blind. Holley simply moved all in for 423,000 and Lawrence made the call to create a nearly 900K pot.

Lawrence: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Holley: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Holley had run smack dab into pocket rockets but managed to overcome them when the flop fell {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Suddenly Lawrence needed an ace to make a set and reclaim the lead. The {8-Diamonds} turn was not it and neither was the {7-Clubs} river. Lawrence took a big hit down to 545,000 while Holley doubled to 897,000.

Day 1 Chip Leader Slatton Elminated

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Dale Slatton- 16th place
Dale Slatton- 16th place

Action folded to Dale Slatton in the cutoff and he moved all in for 119,000. Jesse White looked him up from the small blind and suddenly the chip leader at the start of the day was at risk.

Slatton: {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
White: {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

Slatton was looking for a queen but didn't connect on the {6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades} flop. The {5-Spades} on the turn gave him some chop outs, but the {8-Spades} on the river sent him home in 16th place. White is up to 930,000.
