Ladies Night

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The ladies event started about an hour ago and there are at least three players who won't be able to participate. As we stand, there are 85 remaining players in the main event, three of which are woman. Although none of them have an especially large stack, they all have been managing the field well and have put themselves in a great position to make a deep run.

Mackoff Doubles Through Salsberg

Jonas Mackoff came into today as one of the short stacks, but he is sticking around today, as he just earned a double up through Matt Salsburg. Mackoff got the last of his 24,700 stack in the middle preflop with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, and Salsberg was not happy to see that, as he showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. The flop came out all aces, {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{a-Clubs}, and Mackoff cemented his lead. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn sealed the hand for Mackoff, with the meaningless river coming the {7-Clubs}. Mackoff doubled up to over 50,000, while Salsberg drops below 70,000.

Barnhart Busto

Sam Barnhart three-bet shoved his last 16,000 or so and was called by the original raiser. Barnhart held {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and was going to need a lot of help against the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} of his opponent.

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Barhart was unable to improve, sending him to the rail.

Griffin Hurting

We didn't catch the action, but we saw that Griffin was counting out a ton of chips to send to his opponent. We did see that his opponent had {a-}{k-} in front of him, on a board that was king high. After that hit, Griffin is now down to 11,000.

Baldwin Takes One Out

Eric Baldwin opened the action from under the gun with a raise to 3,300. A few players folded before another competitor moved all in for about 32,000 total. The remaining players also folded until it got back around to Baldwin who decided to put his opponent at risk.

Baldwin: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Baldwin is now among our chip leaders.
