Ray Henson came in today as a short stack with just 8,700, and he hung around for a bit before recently being eliminated. The hand that did most of the damage saw Henson all in pre with against his opponents . The board ran out , and Henson was left with just 1,000. He was eliminated shortly thereafter by Freddy Deeb.
Two of our top three stacks were late today. Brandon Cantu was the first to show up, about fifteen minutes after play had resumed. Luke Nettles arrived even later, almost half an hour into the day's session. Good thing for them, their stacks could afford the small hit.
It seemed that Michael Souza was going to be able to use some early luck to wiggle his way into contention, but it was not to be. He was just seen leaving the poker room and his empty seat has no chips in front of it. He was the most notable of the 11 players that decided to buy in here on Day 2.
The player under the gun shoved all in for around 20,000, and Scott Clements called off for less. Alex Masek was next to act, and he called the original all in, having both players covered. The cards were tabled, and Clements and Masek were in trouble.

Dennis Phillips bet 4,200 on a board before getting min-raised by his opponent. Phillips made the call and when the river came down the , the two players quickly got the rest of the money in. It seemed to be about 10,000 total.

We came to the table as Joe Kuether was heads up with his opponent. The flop read , and Kuether checked to his opponent, who bet out 4,000. Kuether check raised to 10,000, and his opponent thought for about 30 seconds before moving all in for about 10,000 more. Kuether quickly called, and the cards were tabled.

A player in late position raised to 2,200 before Jonas Mackoff moved all in for about 13,000 total. His opponent mulled over his decision for a little while and counted out his stack, which stood at about 20,000, a few times before tossing his cards to the muck.
Mackoff gave a playful fist pump as he raked in the chips.
Michael Souza busted out of Day 1a yesterday, and decided not to play in Day 1b. This gave him the option to come in today with a 20,000 stack, and he put it to use early, shoving on his first two hands. The first time he got no calls, but the second time, he was called by Justice Litle, who had just 5,800 from yesterday.

Souza was in bad shape, but came out on top, as the board ran out . Souza took down the pot, and will look to build his shortish stack from here.
