Negreanu Ousts Billirakis

On a flop of {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Daniel Negreanu bet 35,000 and Alexander Kostritsyn called. Then Steve Billirakis shoved his remaining 52,000, and both Negreanu and Kostritsyn called.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Negreanu went all in with his 208,000. Kostritsyn had had enough, and stepped aside.

Negreanu {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Billirakis {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Negreanu's made flush meant Billirakis was drawing dead. Billirakis is out in 22nd, and Negreanu is up to 390,000.

Action Slooowwwinngg

Typical of a tournament nearing the bubble, our action-happy PLO players have slowed down considerably as we near the money. And... it's a big bubble... 18th place gets just over $54,000 while 19th leaves empty-handed.

Roundabout

Earlier in the day, Phil Hellmuth folded a hand to Brian Rast. "I guess I'll let you take Round 1, son," said Hellmuth at the time.

More recently, Rast, who currently sits second in chips with 660,000, took another pot off of Hellmuth. Seeing an opportunity, Rast quipped, "I guess I win Round 5, Phil."

To which Hellmuth replied, "We play rounds when I say we play rounds, son."
