Chop It Up

Omaha-8:

Action folded around to Phil Ivey on the button and he raised. Michael DeMichele called from the blind and they went heads up to the flop.

The flop came {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {2-Hearts} and DeMichele check-raised Ivey. Ivey called and the {5-Clubs} hit the turn. DeMichele led out on fourth street and Ivey came along. The river was the {4-Hearts} and again DeMichele bet. Ivey called and the players showed:

Ivey: {A-Spades} {5-Spades} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs}
DeMichele: {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}

Ivey's wheel was good for the low while DeMichele's six-high straight took down the high.

Don't Bluff Bloch

The Unbluffable Andy Bloch
The Unbluffable Andy Bloch
Omaha-8:

Andy Bloch raised from UTG, Michael Mizrachi called from the small blind and David Oppenheim called from the big blind. The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Mizrachi and Oppenheim checked to Bloch who bet. Both of them called. The turn was the {J-Hearts}. Mizrachi led out and both Oppenheim and Bloch called. The river was the {J-Spades}. Mizrachi bet, Oppenheim folded and Bloch called.

"F*ckin' river" said Mizrachi as he showed {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair that was counterfeited on the river. Bloch tabled {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {4-Hearts} for the same two pair, jacks and fives, but with an ace kicker. No low was possible and Bloch scooped the pot.

"Everyone keeps trying to tell them, 'Don't bluff me!'" laughed Bloch.

Right about then, Mike Matusow and Mike Wattel wandered up to the table.

"Hey, guess who tried to bluff Andy?" Wattel said to Matusow as he pointed to The Grinder.

Matusow exploded with laughter. "You can't bluff Andy!" he said, cackling away. "Who stakes that guy?" he wondered aloud.

Phil Ivey almost imperceptibly looked up at them from under the brim of his baseball cap.

Alex Kostritsyn Eliminated

Alex Kostritsyn - Eliminated
Alex Kostritsyn - Eliminated
Hold'em:

Action folded around to Scotty Nguyen on the button and he raised. Alex Kostritsyn flat-called from the big blind and the two took a flop heads up.

The flop came {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {3-Spades} and Kostritsyn bet all in. Nguyen made the call and the players showed:

Nguyen: {A-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}
Kostritsyn: {2-Spades} {2-Diamonds}

Kostritsyn was in good shape to double up when the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn. But the cruel river brought a {A-Spades} and took his hand from first to worst. Nguyen's aces were best and Alex Kostritsyn was eliminated.

Nguyen climbs to 700,000 on the hand.

Stud:

"I get on the horse, I get off the horse, I get on the horse, I get off the horse. Maybe I gotta get on a goat!" said Billy "The Croc" Argyros as the cards went in the air on what would be his final hand of the tournament.

Billy Argyros: (X-X) {10-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {7-Hearts} {8-Clubs} (X)

Edwin Ting: (X-X) {5-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} (X)

Huckleberry Seed: (X-X) {3-Clubs} {4-Spades} {3-Hearts} {5-Hearts} (X)

Argyros completed on third street, Ting called and Seed called. On fourth street, Argyros tossed in his last 7,000, Ting called, Seed raised and Ting called. Betting continued on the side between Ting and Seed, with Ting betting out on fifth, sixth and seventh streets and getting called down by Seed.

Argyros showed {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Spades}-- trip queens, but not enough to beat
Ting's sevens full of sixes with {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} {7-Clubs}. Seed mucked and Argyros packed up his menagerie of crocodiles and headed for the exit.

Stud:

Erick Lindgren just tripled up in a hand against James Mackey and Barry Greenstein.
