Jamin Stokes
Jamin Stokes
Johnny Chan raised from the button and Jamin Stokes bet enough to put him all in. Chan called with his last 561,000, and showed {A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. Stokes showed {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}.

The flop came {K-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}, providing no help for Chan. The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} giving Stokes broadway, but opening the door for Chan to make a flush with any diamond.

The river was the {2-Hearts}, giving Stokes the pot and the match.

Johnny Chan's quest for Bracelet number 11 comes to a close and Jamin Stokes advances to the final four.

Stokes Takes a Healthy Lead

Jamin Stokes raised to the minimum to 60,000 from the button, and Johnny Chan called.

The flop brought {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {9-Spades}, and both players checked. Fourth street came the {8-Hearts}, and Chan checked again. Not so easily pacified this time, Stokes fired out 75,000 chips, and Chan made the call.

The river came the {6-Hearts}. When Chan checked, Stokes fired again, 125,000 this time. After some deliberation, Chan made the call. Stokes happily turned over {J-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, for the second nuts. With no raise from Chan, Stokes knew he was good, and he picks up another nice pot.

Stokes - 1,250,000
Chan - 670,000

Stokes Doubles Up

Johnny Chan raised to 65,000 and Jamin Stokes moved all in for 495,000. Chan made the call and showed {A-Hearts} {J-Spades} , far ahead of the {A-Spades} {3-Spades} of Stokes.

The flop came {Q-Spades} {7-Spades} {3-Clubs} giving Stokes the lead with a pair of threes and the nut flush draw.

The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} , meaning Johnny would need a jack to win or seven to split the pot.

The river blanked out in the {K-Clubs} and Stokes doubled up.

Stokes - 1,055,000
Chan - 865,000

Stokes Moves In

Jamin Stokes drags another pot
Jamin Stokes drags another pot
Johnny Chan limped into the pot from the button, and Jamin Stokes tapped the felt.

The flop came {2-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. Stokes led out with 25,000 chips, and Johnny Chan didn't take long to raise to 75,000. Stokes would consider his options very carefully though. After a minute or so, he stacked his remaining chips into one tower and slid all 545,000 of them into the middle.

Chan would ask for a count and go into the tank, staring his opponent up and down. Finally, he let his hand go, sending a few extra chips over to Stokes.

The man who is not Johnny Chan is slowing trying to climb his way back into this match.

Stokes - 682,000
Chan - 1,238,000
